Dohledávání objektů v obraze / Image object detection

The thesis deals with design of a program for entering various types of geometric objects in an image for the purpose of their further processing. The program should also contain algorithms to ease object entering (e.g. refining manually entered object position). In the first part there is a brief description of the computer vision and its basic methods used in the work as well as introduction of the OpenCV image processing library. The following part describes three types of geometric primitives that are implemented for now. Because the output of the program is in universal XML format, there is short chapter about the XML. After that, there are summarized some methods for searching of parametric description of geometric primitives in an image. The final chapter describes the proposed system and evaluates possibility and suitability of its usage for various types of images.

This thesis is focused on face detection in static picture. Theoretical part contains color spaces (RGB, HSI, YCbCr), methods for skin detection (explicit, parametric or non-parametric methods), image metric, edge detection, mathematical morphology, methods for classification faces (appearance-based methods, feature invariant approaches, knowledge-based methods, template matching methods). Practical part of this thesis contains concept and practical realization two algorithms for segmentation skin in static image (simple method based on Cr chroma components and statistical method). Practical part contains concept and practical realization two algorithms for classification face (appearance-based method and template matching method) too.

Main topic of this thesis is a comparison of methods of parametric curve detection, such as Hough transformation and RANSAC-based methods. These methods are compared according to several criteria which are the most important for precise edge detection.

Verifikace rukopisu a podpisu / Handwriting and Signature Verification

This paper concerns methods of verification of person's signature and handwriting. Some of commonly used techniques are resumed and described with related literature being referred. Next aim of this work is design and implementation of a simple handwriting verification application. Application is based on edge detection and comparison of a set of structural and statistical features. As a support classification tool a SVM classifier of the LIBSVM software is employed. The Application is written in C language using OpenCV graphics library. Testing and training set was extracted from samples found in the IAM Handwriting Database. Application was created and tested in the Windows XP operating system.

Lidar-based SLAM : Investigation of environmental changes and use of road-edges for improved positioning

The ability to position yourself and map the surroundings is an important aspect for both civilian and military applications. Global navigation satellite systems are very popular and are widely used for positioning. This kind of system is however quite easy to disturb and therefore lacks robustness. The introduction of autonomous vehicles has accelerated the development of local positioning systems. This thesis work is done in collaboration with FOI in Linköping, using a positioning system with LIDAR and IMU sensors in a EKF-SLAM system using the GTSAM framework. The goal was to evaluate the system in different conditions and also investigate the possibility of using the road surface for positioning. Data available at FOI was used for evaluation. These data sets have a known sensor setup and matches the intended hardware. The data sets used have been gathered on three different occasions in a residential area, a country road and a forest road in sunny spring weather on two occasions and one occasion in winter conditions. To evaluate the performance several different measures were used, common ones such as looking at positioning error and RMSE, but also the number of found landmarks, the estimated distance between landmarks and the drift of the vehicle. All results pointed towards the forest road providing the best positioning, the country road the worst and the residential area in between. When comparing different weather conditions the data set from winter conditions performed the best. The difference between the two spring data sets was quite different which indicates that there may be other factors at play than just weather. A road edge detector was implemented to improve mapping and positioning. Vectors, denoted road vectors, with position and orientation were adapted to the edge points and the change between these road vectors were used in the system using GTSAM in areas with few landmarks. The clearest improvements to the drift in the vehicle direction was in the longer country area where the error was lowered with 6.4 % with increase in the error sideways and in orientation as side effects. The implemented method has a significant impact on the computational cost of the system as well as requiring precise adjustment of uncertainty to have a noticeable improvement and not worsen the overall results.

This document deals with experimental verifying to use machine learning algorithms AdaBoost or WaldBoost to make classifier, that is able to find point in the second picture that matches original point in the first picture. This work also depicts finding points of interest in image as a first step of finding correspondence. Next there are described some descriptors of points of interest. Corresponding points could be useful for 3D modeling of shooted scene.

In this work is describe anatomy and physiology of the cornea. The following are the primary non-inflamatory degeneration of the cornea. Then describe the physical principles diagnostic devices for cornea – keratometer, pachymeter, Michelson interferometr and optical coherence tomography (OCT). At the end of the theoretical introduction is describes the principle of laser correction surgery – LASIK. The practical part is divided into two main objectives. The first task is propose an algorithm for automatic detection of corneal surface and then calculation of corneal thickness and size of the chamber angle in Matlab. The aim of the second task is image flap analysis for boundary detection.

Aim of this thesis is description of neural network based edge detection methods that are substitute for classic methods of detection using edge operators. First chapters generally discussed the issues of image processing, edge detection and neural networks. The objective of the main part is to show process of generating synthetic images, extracting training datasets and discussing variants of suitable topologies of neural networks for purpose of edge detection. The last part of the thesis is dedicated to evaluating and measuring accuracy values of neural network.
