Preparing business students for cooperation in multidisciplinary new venture teams: empirical insights from a business planning course

Lüthje, Christian, Prügl, Reinhard Wilhelm January 2006 (has links) (PDF)
Interdisciplinary cooperation among people trained in technical and economic fields has been identified as an important success factor in new venture teams. However, empirical findings also indicate that individuals often refuse to engage in close and trustful relationships with representatives of other disciplines. Thus the question arises whether education programs on interdisciplinary cooperation may be suitable to prepare students for future activities in multifunctional business start-up teams. In this study, we investigate the psychological effects of an interdisciplinary business planning course held at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration with the intention of promoting cooperation between technology-oriented professionals and business management students. The findings show that this course experience changes the students' attitudinal beliefs with respect to representatives of the technical discipline by reducing stereotypical assumptions. At the same time, the course fosters awareness of the challenges involved in cross-disciplinary cooperation. The more students communicate with their technical counterparts and the more they familiarize themselves with the technical aspects of the project, the stronger these effects become.(author's abstract)

No. of bitstreams: 1 Nadja Ferreira da Silva.pdf: 2743878 bytes, checksum: 800c0ede062e2a38700ce7a34d4853f0 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2015-03-25 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / Environmental issues in the contemporary world have been discussed since the Declaration of the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment, in Stockholm, Switzerland, 16th June 1972. During this Conference, topics that would guide for Environmental Education were discussed. Such topics were ratified in 1977, during the Intergovernmental Conference on Environmental Education in Tbilisi, Georgia. In Brazil, topics related to environmental education entwine those discussed in world conferences, but ¿ more notoriously ¿ as from 1998, with the National Curriculum Parameters ¿ Transversal Themes, upon which six main themes are approached and among these, environmental education. The parameters propose to integrate and compose interdisciplinary along with the topics of curriculum components, in such a way it can strengthen the conditions for social and environmental awareness. The Coordination Office for Environmental Education (CEE), established in 1996 in the town of Praia Grande, São Paulo, started its activities in the school year of 1997 as a Pioneer in the Atlantic Forest coast to have Environmental Education in its foundation. Therefore, this research paper investigates and analyzes the relations between the educational projects developed by the CEE, with the municipal public policies demands. The research was made by the means of document research, carried out on the Closed Files at the City Hall in Praia Grande, where it was possible to find excerpts from newspapers that promoted such projects, along with images and registry of all previous activities, as well as how these projects related to social demand. Among other authors, in order to analyze social environmental issues, this research counts with the theoretical support from: Coimbra (1985), (2002) e (2014); Leff (2009) and Sachs (2007). In order to discuss interdisciplinary and the concept of environmental education at schools, the following authors were studied: Carvalho (2008a) e (2008b); Morin (2000) e Pelicioni (2014). Philippi Jr. and Bruna (2014) and Ueno and Natal (2014) also provided information on the matter of environmental public policies as well as the concept of Environmental Management. The analysis was carried out through interviews with teachers and coordinators at the CEE, in order to collect substantial data concerning the operational issues of the CEE, and how its projects relate to the town¿s public policies.

Dýchání jako mezioborové téma ve výuce přírodovědných předmětů / Respiration as an interdisciplinary topic in science education

Čermáková, Vendula January 2018 (has links)
This diploma thesis is focused on topics of and respiratory chain and their processing as educational animations for secondary schools. In the theoretical part of the diploma thesis, supporting terms are defined (visualisations, interdisciplinary relations, animations). Next, themes are included in educational field and thematic unit in RVP G. Two analyses of the topic of respiratory chain are mentioned and evaluated in this part. Firstly, there is an analysis focused on the most used chemical and biological textbooks. The second one is focused on available online animations. For research purpose of the diploma thesis quantitative method was used - a questionnaire survey. Results of this survey are listed in the practical part. Practical part presents educational materials specified for support of education topics of respiration and respiratory chain. Stress on illustrative nature and interdisciplinarity is laid in these materials. The principal materials are educational animations which were made in program Adobe Flash Professional CS6. Study text was also written to these animations. Created educational animations give a complex view on respiratory process. These materials can be used in biology and chemistry subjects or in scientific courses. Animations include two tests giving feedback to...
