In this work, it had been studied Actinia bermudensis (Mc Murrich, 1889), Anemonia sargassensis Hargitt, 1908, Phyllactis praetexta (Dana, 1846) and Homostichantus duerdemi Carlgren, 1900, from Santa Cruz, Aracruz, Espirito Santo State, Brazil, in employing morphological characteres and cnidoma associated with the hystological caracterization and it had been presented bio-ecological infomations and geographical distribution. The author took off from the characterization of genus Actinia Browne, 1756, what is refered to "sphincter with a slight tendency to be mesoectodermal" (Carlgren, 1949: 49 e Corrêa 1964: 50). based upon hystological observations. She points the presence of longtudinal fission on the species. The author considers Asteractis expansa Duerden, 1902 and Asteractis flosculifera (Lesueur, 1817) as synonimous as Phyllactis praetexta (Dana, 1846). Studying the cnidema of Homostichantus duerdemi Carlgren, 1900, which is similar to the cnidoma of Stoichactis helianthus ( Ellis, 1767), guies a better diferenciation between the two species by means of the complete hystological characterization.
