O propósito do presente trabalho é oferecer ao leitor uma descrição e problematização acerca do cuidado ético na Enfermagem. O problema da pesquisa consiste em examinar o cuidado, não apenas no seu aspecto empírico, como atitude educativa e profissional, mas também como conduta ética. O apoio teórico, entre outros autores, parte de Platão, no diálogo Alcibíades I, e de Foucault em A Hermenêutica do sujeito, e ainda de outros autores da área da saúde e da Enfermagem. O método empregado é o analítico. Nesse sentido, a dissertação desenvolve-se a partir da explicitação de conceitos e enunciados. The method is analytical. In this sense the dissertation develops from the explanation of concepts and statements. The work is structured after the first chapter introducing the concept of care and its philosophical origin, the second chapter discusses the concept of care in Foucault, a third chapter on the care of oneself as the nursing care of each other, and finally in considerations of finality about care in a patient with Pain care.
