Nosso objeto de estudo são as “não-respostas”, em especial, as respostas evasivas. Observamos que, nesses contextos, os respondentes freqüentemente produziam respostas “insatisfatórias” se considerarmos o posto e/ou pressuposto das perguntas realizadas. Assim, buscamos verificar: qual a relação entre a natureza das perguntas utilizadas nesses contextos e os tipos de respostas produzidos; como o contexto institucional influenciava na produção de respostas do tipo “não-respostas”; quais os motivos pessoais/ profissionais que poderiam contribuir para a produção de “não-respostas”. Adotamos uma abordagem qualitativa e interpretativa de pesquisa para a geração e análise dos dados, coerente com as perspectivas teórico-metodológicas de uma abordagem interacional em Lingüística. Os resultados do trabalho mostram que as práticas discursivas de “nãoresposta” devem ser analisadas de forma situada, de forma local, ou seqüencialmente, não ignorando, contudo, que seu uso pode ser determinado por contingências de natureza macrocontextual. As atividades de fala aqui estudadas - entrevista política e audiência de conciliação - exercem papel relevante no uso estratégico ou retórico de respostas evasivas abertas ou encobertas para atender às metas comunicativas dos participantes geralmente conflitantes. / This work investigates the answers produced in the political interview contexts (an interview with The Minister of Education Paulo Renato on the program Roda Viva) and in two conciliation hearings at PROCON. Our object of study is the “non-answers”, especially, the evasive answers. We observed that, in these contexts, the respondents frequently built “unsatisfactory” answers if we consider the assertions/pressupositions of the questions performed. Thus, we tried to check: what is the relation between the nature of these questions in these contexts and the type of answers built; how the institutional context influenced the production of “non-answers”; what are the professional/ personal reasons which could contribute to the production of “non-answers”. We adopt the qualitative and interpretative approach of researching for the production and analysis of the data, which are coherent to the theoretic-methodological perspectives of an Interactional approach in Linguistics. The results of this study shows that discursive practices of “non-answers” must be analyzed in a situated way, in a located form, or sequentially, not ignoring, however, that the use can be determined by contingences of macro-contextual nature. The speech activities studied here - political interview and conciliation hearings - have a relevant role in the strategic and rhetoric use of over or covert evasive answers in order to attend the participants‟ communicative goals which are generally conflicting.

Para análise, selecionamos três audiências de conciliação do PROCON, intituladas ―Audiência Rui Pedreiro‖, ―Audiência Banco Sul‖ e ―Audiência Ok Veículos‖. Partimos da suposição inicial segundo a qual as perguntas realizam diferentes tarefas no curso das audiências de conciliação. Acreditamos, portanto, que as perguntas vão adquirindo especificidades para atender às diferentes tarefas discursivas objeto das audiência de conciliação e às diferentes metas comunicativas dos participantes. Assim, buscamos: (i) investigar a contribuição das perguntas na legitimação vs. refutação da reclamação que deu origem ao conflito entre as partes e a forma como a mesma é (re) formulada no curso desta atividade de fala; (ii) examinar a forma como as perguntas são utilizadas na co-construção e negociação e de culpa/responsabilidade das partes em litígio; e (iii) analisar o papel das perguntas no encerramento da audiência e,em especial, o uso das mesmas na produção/formulação do acordo entre as partes. Adotamos uma abordagem qualitativa e interpretativa para a geração e análise dos dados. Encontramos como resultado de nosso estudo três macro funções: (i) perguntas de enquadramento legal; (ii) perguntas que buscam checar, atribuir responsabilidades e (iii) perguntas destinadas à produção de acordo. Este estudo visa a contribuir para o estudo das práticas discursivas de perguntar, ao adotar uma perspectiva interacional em Estudos da Linguagem. Embora este seja um estudo de caso, propomos, a partir de nossas análises, uma tipologia das funções das perguntas que, provavelmente, poderá guiar a análise dessas práticas em outros contextos de falaem-interação. / We investigate, in our work, the main functions that the questions explore in a negotioation/co-construction of complaints, and the actions projected in the subsequent turns, in other words, how the participants interviewed are guided by their initial actions, which are unchained by the questions. This analysis is based on three PROCON reconciliation auditions entitled ― Audiência Rui Pedreiro‖, ―Audiência Banco Sul‖ e ―Audiência Ok Veículos‖. From the initial hypothesis in which the questions produce different tasks along the conciliation auditions, it is believed, therefore, that the questions acquire specific characteristics to respond to differences at a discursive task object of the reconciliation auditions, and also the different communicative aims of the participants. The aim is: (i) to investigate the contribution of questions in the legitimation versus refutation of the complaint that began the conflicts between the parts, and the way that the same principle is reformulated in the process of the speaking activity; (ii) to examine the way that questions are used in the construction and negotiation of guilt/responsability of the parts in litigation; and (iii) to analyze the role of the questions at the end of the auditions, especially, the use of the same principle in the production/formulation agreement among the participants. It was adopted a qualitative and interpretative approach to data generation and analysis .We find as a result of our study three macro functions: (i) questions the legal framework, (ii) questions that seek to check, assign responsibilities and (iii) questions designed to produce agreement. This study aims to contribute to the studies of discursive practices of questioning, adopting an international perspective in Language Studies. Although this is a study of case, based on the analysis of function of the questions we propose typography that, probably, will be able to guide these practices in other contexts of talk in interaction.
