The productivity, the biofortifying and the trofobiose were analyzed on two beans species: Phaseolus vulgaris L. and Vigna unguiculata (L) Walp, were cultivated with domestic sewage effluent and sludge from a treatment plant which is composed by an UASB reactor, a polishing pond and stone filters. The experiment consisted of ten treatments with three repetitions each, and was conducted in completely randomized resulting in a factorial system of 10 x 2. Treatments T0, T1, T2 and T3 consisted of using water supply, water + fertilizing (NPK), water + Rhizobium bacteria inoculation and water + Rhizobium + PK, respectively; treatments T4, T5 and T6, of effluent, effluent + Rhizobium and effluent + Rhizobium +PK, respectively; and treatments T7, T8 and T9, of UASB sludge, sludge + Rhizobium and sludge + Rhizobium + PK), respectively. Each vase, filled with 10 kg of soil, was used to cultivate two plants, with controlled irrigation by weight. Among the treatments that presented the best results of productivity, biofortification and low content of soluble substances in the leaves combating the incidence of pests, T7 treatment with sludge alone was of the best performance. The T4 with effluent alone showed better results than the T0 treatment. Therefore, the use of sludge and effluent showed to be very viable on the cultivation of the two beans, P. vulgaris L. and V. unguiculata.
