Muitos monumentos e edificacoes dao a Brasilia caracteristicas marcantes que projetam a identidade cultural da sociedade de uma epoca. Cabe, portanto, a Uniao e o Governo do Distrito Federal primar pela preservacao e protecao desse patrimonio, realizando os trabalhos exigidos para o resgate de aspectos historicos, restauracao, conservacao e manutencao. Com isso, dentro de uma linha de pesquisa do Programa de Pos-graduacao em Estruturas e Construcao Civil da UnB, o presente trabalho estudou a estrutura da Plataforma Superior da Estacao Rodoviaria de Brasilia, por se tratar de uma edificacao de importancia fundamental para a populacao local e para a Engenharia Nacional. Foram levantados aspectos de funcionalidade, durabilidade, seguranca, responsabilidade tecnica, caracteristicas historicas e construtivas da estrutura da Estacao, assim como todos os trabalhos de reparo e intervencoes nela realizados. Tendo em vista auxiliar na analise posreparo e levantar um diagnostico da situacao fisica presente, foi realizado um programa de inspecoes e verificacao in loco na referida estrutura, no qual foi constatada a necessidade de reparo em alguns de seus elementos estruturais e que algumas especificacoes importantes do projeto de reparo da intervencao realizada em 1996/98 nao foram atendidas plenamente. Como conclusao, foi feita uma analise quanto a eficiencia dos reparos realizados, assim como sugestoes gerais para um programa rotineiro de inspecao estrutural, visando garantir e subsidiar trabalhos de manutencao para o prolongamento da vida util dessa estrutura. ________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / Brasilia has just completed 49 years and, despite its relative youth, in 1987 it was already recognized as a UNESCO world cultural heritage city. Many monuments and buildings give Brasilia its notable characteristics that project the cultural identity of society at that time. It is therefore incumbent on the national authorities and Federal District government to do their utmost to preserve and protect this heritage, carrying out the necessary work for recovery of historical aspects, restoration, conservation and maintenance. Bearing this in mind, within the research scope of the Post-graduate Program on Structures and Civil Construction of UnB, this thesis studied the structure of the Upper Platform of Brasilia’s Central Bus Terminal, since this is a construction of fundamental importance both to the local population and to national engineering. Functionality, durability, safety, technical responsibility, historical and constructional characteristics of the Terminal’s structure were surveyed, as well as all the repair work and other interventions carried out. With the aim of helping in post-repair analysis and diagnosis of the present physical situation, a program of inspections and on-site check-ups was carried out on the structure. This produced a report stating that repair is needed in some of the structural elements and that some important specifications from the 1996/98 repair plans were not fully accomplished. In conclusion, the thesis provides an analysis of the efficiency of repairs already done, as well as a proposal for a routine program of structural inspections, aiming to guarantee a longer viable lifespan to the structure of the Upper Platform of Brasilia’s Central Bus Terminal.
