This paper investigates a new class of database systems loosely referred to as "non-relational databases," which offer a subset of traditional relational database functionality, in exchange for improved scalability, performance, and / or simplicity. We explore the differences in conceptual modeling techniques, and examine both the advantages and limitations of several classes of currently available systems, using running examples of real-world problems as implemented in both a traditional relational database model, as well as several non-relational models. / text

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has been auctioning frequency licenses since 1994. To encourage long-run competition in the telecommunication industry, the commission granted bid discounts to the small firms in its spectrum auctions. The primary focus of the dissertation is to evaluate the effect of the program on the number of licenses won by small firms, and on the FCC's auction revenues. It also examines the consequences of access manipulations by large-firm affiliates which used legal loopholes to capture over $7 billion in discounts. The first chapter presents an overview of the FCC auction system and the discount program. It sets up the rest of the analysis. The second chapter of the dissertation applies a non-parametric estimation approach to recover the auction participants' value distribution through its bounds. Auction simulations using the distribution argue that the subsidy increases the share of small firm licenses from 25.9% to 27.6% at a low cost to the commission. They also imply that subsidy access by large firms has no significant effect on FCC's revenues but reduces the program's effectiveness by more than one third. The third chapter extends the analysis by introducing a parametric model that takes advantage of the bidder as well as license characteristics heterogeneity. My findings imply that perfect implementation of the program would triple the number of small firm licenses from 357, when no subsidies are present, to 942. It would also increase auction revenue from $31.89 billion to $34.17 billion. However, the access manipulations led to an increase in small firm licenses by just 266 for a total of 623, and a drop in FCC receipts to $30.21 billion. The results of my dissertation suggest that improving the program's eligibility regulations holds benefits for both small firms and the FCC. Tightening the commission's access criteria would increase welfare.

This Diploma thesis "Evaluation of BOVA Březnice, spol. s r.o." is formed as an expert opinion. The goal of this thesis is to find investment value for the needs of owners to the date 1. 1. 2014. Valuation of company is compiled mostly from internal available data. As a main valuation method was used DFC entity. The thesis consists of complex strategic analysis, the financial analysis, value drivers, financial plan and a final valuation.

The goal of this master thesis is to design and implement a named entity recognition and linking algorithm. A part of this goal is to propose and create a knowledge base that will be used in the algorithm. Because of the limited amount of data for languages other than English, we want to be able to train our method on one language, and then transfer the learned parameters to other languages (that do not have enough training data). The thesis consists of description of available knowledge bases, existing methods and design and implementation of our own knowledge base and entity linking method. Our method achieves state of the art result on a few variants of the AIDA CoNLL-YAGO dataset. The method also obtains comparable results on a sample of Czech annotated data from the PDT dataset using the parameters trained on the English CoNLL dataset. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

English summary Public procurement, as a relatively young branch of law, emerging from the American internal army regulations of public contracts, has become one of the most significant instrument of outsourcing execution of work, supply of products and services. In this work I am dealing with construction works, as they are the basis of present and future economic growth. Public tenders for infrastructure, flood control measures, reconstruction of schools and hospitals etc. effectively allocates financial means, but also creates new jobs and opportunities for economic operators hit by the global financial recession. The purpose of this master degree thesis is to analyze the current Czech public procurement legislation with respect of the regulations and directives of the European Union. As it is not possible to give a comprehensive preview of every single problem and question relating public procurement, the focus is on the most problematic part of the Public Procurement Code. The first chapter describes purpose of this specific branch of law providing a short historical background. Dissertation thesis called "Czech and French Law of Corporate Groups" analyzes French law of corporate groups and judicial decisions of the French courts, the so called Rozenblum concept - a set of conditions fulfillment of which might lead to exoneration of the company's directors acting in detriment of the company if such act is beneficiary to the group as a whole. The dissertation then analyzes relevant provisions of the new Czech business companies and cooperatives bill, partly inspired by the French law and by the Rozenblum concept. Under the conditions given by the Czech bill, dominant company shall not be obliged to compensate damages caused to the dominated company if such damages were caused to the benefit of the group as a whole and were or will be counterbalanced within the group. Moreover, the dissertation thesis at hand analyzes other provisions of the new Czech bill, assesses them and compares them with the provisions of the French law.
