O objetivo central do trabalho é congregar os componentes naturais e sociais que agem no ambiente da região Oeste Catarinense, tendo em vista uma cartografia ambiental. Para tanto, abordamos e representamos em mapa os elementos referentes a geologia, relevo, solos, vegetação, clima, uso e cobertura da terra, rede de drenagem, divisão administrativa e rede viária. Uma visão de síntese, integrada e espacializada da realidade do ambiente regional foi obtida com a utilização de técnicas de geoprocessamento, que, dentre suas possibilidades permitiram a identificação de cinco unidades ambientais e suas subdivisões para o Oeste Catarinense. / The main aim of this work is to bring together the natural and social elements that act on the West Catarinense region in Brazil, considering the environmental cartography. In order to do that, we show and represent maps of geology, relief, soil, vegetation, climate, land use, drainage system, political division and transport. Using the techniques for geoprocessment, a syntesis, integrated and spacialized view of the environmental reality was obtained. This procedure identificated five environmental units and its subdivisions into the West Catarinense.

A presença de rodovias, atividades rurais e turísticas no local despertam a atenção para a realização de levantamentos que permitam conhecer melhor as características ambientais do meio. Este estudo teve como objetivo o mapeamento das unidades geoambientais desta área através da construção e análise de uma base de dados contendo variáveis ambientais indicadoras de instabilidade à erosão. Assim, foram organizados mapas temáticos referentes ao uso da terra e cobertura vegetal, solos, geologia e declividade. Utilizou-se como instrumento os Sistemas de Informações Geográficas (SIG) que serviram para a integração dos dados, processamento digital de imagens e construção de um modelo de análise espacial. A área estudada compreende uma superficie de 327.64 km2, sobre a qual sobressaem formações geomorfológicas da Depressão Periférica em contato com o Planalto Ocidental Paulista e características hidrográficas marcadas pela presença das cabeceiras dos rios Corumbatai e afluente do Mogi-Guaçu. Os dados obtidos em mapas temáticos e por intermédio do sensoriamento remoto, foram submetidos à análise espacial, a qual proporcionou a delimitação de unidades geoambientais e a construção de um modelo cartográfico quantitativo do potencial destas unidades geoambientais em relação a sua fragilidade ambiental a erosão / Abstract: Analândia is a municipal area in the western of the State of São Paulo (Brazil). Its limits are set in an Environmental Protection Area called AP A (Área de Proteção Ambiental). The singular geomorphological and hydrographical unit present in such region is of interest to conservation. The presence of highways, agricultural businesses and tourism in the place call the attention for the accomplishment of surveys that allow to better know the characteristics of the environment. The present thesis has the objective 10 map the geoenvironrnental units of the AP A area through the cons1ruction and analysis of a database including changeable ambient indicating of instability. Thus, thematic maps had been organized referring to the use and land use, soil, geology and declivity. It was used as instrument the Geographic Information Systems called SIG that served for the integration of the data, digital processing of images and construction of a model of spatial analysis. The studied area covers a surface of 327.24 km2 on which stand out geomorphological formations of the Peripheral Depression in contact with The Occidental Plateau of São Paulo interland and hydrographic characteristics marked by the presence of headspring of the Corumbataí river and by of the tributary rivers of the Mogi-Guaçu.
