Sergipe DeI Rey vivenciara-Ihe de várias formas, reproduzindo o cenário da colônia nos seus diversos contextos, desde o clima de desordem que fundava e sustentava a colônia, passando por transformações administrativas. Isto no sentido de amenizar os conflitos sociais que transbordavam no período e que culminava, dentre outras coisas, na resistência negra à escravidão, com todas as possibilidades de se realizar uma grande revolução escrava no Brasil e de se implantar um governo próprio e controlado pelos escravizados. Sergipe não ficaria nem ao menos de fora da guerra que se travou entre o exército colonial português e o exército libertador, e das conseqüências que essa disputa inseria no futuro político da insipiente nação que se instituía, e na nova província que se desgarrava da Bahia / Abstract: The ancient colonial system spread out alI over the Occidental W orld in many ways, in different contexts and taking the characteristics of each one of those societies. Sergipe DeI Rey experienced this in many ways, reproducing the scenery of the colony in its different contexts, from the disorder environrnent which founded and sustained the colony, passing by administrative changes in order to soften the social conflicts which overflew that moment and culminated, among other things, in the black resistance against the slavery system, with great possibilities of making a big slave revolution in Brazil and installing a govemment of their own and ruled by the (ex) slaves. Sergipe wouldn't even be apart of that war between the Portuguese colonial army and the liberation forces nor even would be free from the consequences which that dispute would insert for the political future of the newbom nation and the new province that released itself from Bahia / Mestrado / Mestre em História Econômica
