O município de Santo Estevão-BA se insere nesta lógica de instalação de novas fábricas a partir do ano 2001, com o funcionamento da fábrica de calçados do grupo empresarial Dass Clássico. A proposta do presente trabalho de pesquisa foi analisar o processo que resultou na instalação da fábrica de calçados Dass Clássico na cidade de Santo Estevão – BA, enfocando as características da produção de calçados e as práticas espaciais desenvolvidas pela empresa e suas principais implicações socioespaciais. Como resultado foi possível compreender e identificar os principais motivos da instalação da fábrica de calçados em Santo Estevão - BA, as práticas espaciais desenvolvidos pela empresa para manter a localização geográfica da unidade produtiva, caracterizar e analisar as principais implicações socioespaciais da instalação da fábrica de calçados no município. / ABSTRACT The installation process of manufactures footwear in Bahia, starting from decade in 1990, has its origin in the restructuring process, the intensification of global competition and “fiscal war". The municipality of Santo Estevão-BA inserts in this logic of installation of new factories starting in 2001, with operation of manufacture footwear business group Dass Clássico. The propose of this research was to analyze the process that resulted in the installation of manufactures footwear Dass Clássico in Santo Estevão-BA, focusing on the features of shoes production and the spatial practices developed by the company and its main implications sociospatial. As result was possible understand and identify the main reasons for the installation of the manufactures footwear in Santo Estevão-BA, the spatial practices developed by company to keep the geographic location of the plant, characterize and analyze the main implications sociospatial of the installation manufactures of footwear in the municipality.
