The diploma thesis is concentrated on internal organizational communication analysis in Hirschmann Czech s.r.o. during the financial crisis. All empirical data are obtained by the anonymous questionnaire research among the workers and standardized individual interview with their leaders. Gathered data are statistically processed followed by verbal interpretation. There are some internal organizational communication problems identified according to the research findings. Final chapter is devoted to the practical recommendations which can help the company to improve the process of its internal organizational communiaction.

The paper is divided into two main sections. The first part provides a theoretical summary. Followed second empirical section which is based on research of actual quality of interpersonal communication in company. The results of a questionary research as the main data-collecting tool will make a headstone for a set of proposals which will result in more effective internal communication in the above-mentioned company.

6 Abstract This thesis aims to offer a comprehensive view of corporate communication while emphasizing its importance for everyday life of corporations and achievement of their strategic targets. The thesis introduces potential interpretations of corporate communication with the main focus on key moments of corporate communication as well as on consequences non-effective communication has on employee satisfaction and their life in the corporation. In the thesis I opted for the method of compilation and comparison of professional literature along with expert interviews which reveal the quality of internal communication in two selected corporations and prove one-sided view of communication inside corporations. The first part of the thesis provides a detailed look at characteristics of individual communication forms, knowledge of these characteristics being the cornerstone of further research in corporate communication. Besides, this part also describes the principles of active listening, a skill which is frequently omitted from the communication skill list. The second part deals with potential interpretations and divisions of corporate communication in professional literature and offers a thorough account of internal communication and its individual aspects. From communication to communigation: a conceptual model to strengthen South Africa’s government communication system – the case of Mpumalanga Province

Text in English / This study adopted a quantitative approach in order to produce numbers in relation to the diffusion of the new media. A descriptive quantitative survey was conducted – with sampling done in multi-stage probability – which comprised clustering, simple random, systematic, stratified sampling techniques, convenience and census sampling. A sample size of 379 respondents was selected, comprising 347 citizen-respondents and 32 government communicators (heads of communication). Data was collected utilising two (2) standardised questionnaires – one tailor-made for the citizens and the other for government communicators. Informed by the Diffusion of Innovations theory, this study has established that new media channels have difussed extensively within communities in the Province of Mpumalanga. This has provided a strong motivation to recommend that the communication policy of the South African government be amended, to include new media channels, like social media, as official government communication channels. / Communication Science / D.
