No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2005-06-29 / Nowadays, the Brazilian society is hostage of the urban violence constituting a compound problem to development, because interferes in the health, altering the behavior and the people's well-being in their daily one. It is a fact that violates the human rights and, to force the citizen is to deprive their integrity physical, mental and social. A lot of times we cannot escape from that reality, we cannot also crystallize the omission before the context and repercussions originating from of the violence. Before the exposed, the study had as objectives to investigate the impact in the health of the families that had one of their members victims by the violence and to identify the health promotion developed by the Association of Relatives and Friends of Victims of the Violence (APAVV) close to the forced families. It is a case study, accomplished with five (5) families who had member suffered violence and attended by APAVV, in Fortaleza, Ceará, in the period of July of 2004 to March of 2005. The semi-structured interview, participation in the meetings of APAVV and visit to the homes of the participants constituted strategies of data collection. These were submitted the analysis and the categories that emerged were discussed to the light of the effective literature and of the Letters of Health Promotion. The results evidenced that the impacts caused by the urban violence don't just affect the victims of the violence, but also their families, causing the unstructured of the family atmosphere. Such impacts commit the relatives' health and significant people, carting physical and emotional upset, changes of behavior, refuge in the drugs, socialization problems and negative feelings of revolt, revenge and pessimism. To lessen that picture family unstructured, the social work of APAVV it is important to support the families in the win their conflicts and in the restoration of the family health, looking for to rescue the balance in the social life and in the health of the families. It is considered then that the daily of families violence victims suffers a rupture of biological, emotional and social conditions that favor the promotion, maintenance and recovery of the health, and APAVV is contributing to the transformation of victim's" "condition, hostage of the violence, in "condition citizen", guardian of the peace, on behalf of the fight against the urban violence. / A sociedade brasileira encontra-se refém da violência urbana, constituindo um complexo problema ao seu desenvolvimento, pois interfere na saúde, alterando o comportamento e o bem-estar das pessoas no seu cotidiano. É um fato que viola os direitos humanos, e violentar o cidadão é privá-lo de sua integridade física, mental e social. Muitas vezes não se pode fugir dessa realidade, como também não é possível cristalizar a omissão diante do contexto e repercussões oriundas da violência. O estudo, com efeito, teve como objetivos investigar o impacto na saúde das famílias que tiveram um de seus membros vitimados pela violência e identificar a Promoção em Saúde desenvolvida pela Associação de Parentes e Amigos de Vítimas da Violência (APAVV) junto às famílias violentadas. Trata-se de um estudo de caso, realizado com cinco (5) grupos familiares vitimados pela violência e assistidas pela APAVV, em Fortaleza, Ceará, no período de julho de 2004 a março de 2005. A entrevista semi-estruturada, participação nas reuniões da APAVV e visita aos domicílios dos sujeitos constituíram estratégias de coleta de dados. Estes foram submetidos a análise e as categorias que emergiram foram discutidas à luz da literatura vigente e das Cartas de Promoção da Saúde. Os resultados evidenciaram que os impactos causados pela violência urbana não afetam apenas as vítimas da violência, mas também as suas famílias, causando a desestrutura do ambiente familiar. Tais impactos comprometem a saúde dos membros familiares e pessoas significativas, acarretando transtornos físicos e emocionais, mudanças de comportamento, refúgio nas drogas, problemas de socialização e sentimentos negativos de revolta, vingança e pessimismo. Para minorar esse quadro familiar desestruturado, o trabalho social da APAVV é importante para apoiar as famílias na superação dos seus conflitos e na restauração da saúde familial, buscando reaver o equilíbrio na vida social e na saúde das famílias. Considera-se, então, que o cotidiano de famílias vítimas de violência é alvo de uma ruptura das condições biológicas, emocionais e sociais que favorecem a promoção, manutenção e recuperação da saúde, e a APAVV contribui para a transformação da condição de vítima , refém da violência, em condição cidadã , guardiã da paz, em prol da luta contra a violência urbana.
