M.A. / The purpose of this study is to look into Oedipal structures in the novels of Sibusiso Nyembezi. The notion of an Oedipal structure is derived from Sophocles' play entitled 'Oedipus the King'. In this play, Oedipus, a forsaken child, learns that he is a son of a Theban King. On the way to Thebes, he encounters and assassinates his father.
