This paper details the production of the short film Beyond Memory from conception through completion. Particular attention is paid to the application of Deleuze’s time-image and film noir as a genre.

Ambitious Young Woman is an hour-long dramedy layered with warmth, gravitas, and humor. With dialogue that flies by at the speed of light and a protagonist we would walk into battle with, heart and goodwill lie at the center of the series. While the premise centers around politics on a university campus, the ramifications of the students’ actions will ripple across the entire nation. Staunch liberals of Gen Z are our heroes and they give no mercy when pursuing their progressive ideals. However, it is their evolution from young men and women into adulthood that we’re returning week-to-week for. Even as they bring down the conservative bastions of ‘The Baby Boomers’, it is the characters interpersonal lives that bring about the greatest intrigue.

This writing covers concepts in the creation of a cinematic scene in digital matte painting. Digital matte painting is a visual effects process of the modern version of traditional matte painting, in which the artist paints several backgrounds to add to a scene. The digital artist uses software to paint, apply photo-bashing techniques, and/or utilize 3D models to create an exterior or interior environment. This scene incorporates 3D geometry in Autodesk Maya, brought to life through texturing and in-software lighting and animated cameras. The finalized scene includes color correction and additional visual effects.
