[pt] AVALIAÇÃO TÉCNICA PARA USO DO GESSO FGD COMO ADITIVO RETARDADOR DO TEMPO DE PEGA EM CIMENTO PORTLAND / [en] TECHNICAL EVALUATION OF THE FGD GYPSUM FOR USE AS AN ADDITIVE FOR SETTING TIME CONTROL OF PORTLAND CEMENT

28 October 2021 (has links)
[en] The SO2 is well known as an important environmental contaminant and many countries have established rules to control its emission to the atmosphere and as result most of power supply plants were equipped with flue gas desulfurization systems. Although this technology is successful in the discharge of SO2, its generates a large amount of gypsum FGD (flue gas desulfurization) as a residue. Great efforts are being made to find destinations for this residue. In the present study, the FGD gypsum was evaluated as setting retarder to replace the natural gypsum in the production of Portland cement (CP II E-32). The results of physical-chemistry and morphological characterization of both products, natural and FGD gypsum showed a material of high purity, calcium sulfate dehydrate for natural gypsum, and the presence of bassanite (CaSO4.0,6H2O) and hannebachite (CaSO3.0,5H2O) with low concentrations of impurities for FGD gypsum. Based on the results, the FGD gypsum is a suitable alternative to replace natural gypsum. The setting time with FGD gypsum showed about 1 hour delay compared with natural gypsum and its effect on compressive strength, for samples of 3, 7 e 28 days, depend the composition of the mixtures, reaching the maximum value for the mixture of 1,4 weight percent natural gypsum and 2,1 weight percent FGD gypsum. The FGD gypsum environmental impact was evaluated by determining its potential in releasing inorganic constituents, following the standard ABNT NBR 10004:2004, and it was classified as a non-hazardous and non-inert.

Technologie odstranění oxidů dusíku (NOx) ze spalin pro velká spalovací zařízení / Technology to remove nitrogen oxides (NOx) from flue gases for large combustion plants

Kučera, Jan January 2020 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with selected abatement techniques of nitrogen oxides (NOx) developed for large combustion plants. The first part describes selected NOx, their properties and explains the formation during combustion. Furthermore, there is an analysis of current legal legislation regulating the issue of emission limits. The third part presents selected primary and secondary measures that are widely used. The emphasis is placed on the description of selective catalytic (SCR) and non-catalytic reduction (SNCR). Finally, the basic design of these technologies for model combustion equipment is performed. The consumption of reducing medium and the volume of the catalyst for the mentioned techniques are calculated here. The estimate of selected operating and investment costs is a part of the basic scheme.

Podlahové systémy na bázi druhotných surovin z energetického průmyslu / Floor systems based on secondary raw materials from power industry

Kalina, Martin January 2014 (has links)
This thesis deals with the possibility of using secondary raw materials from the energy industry especially the solid residues of high temperature combustion of coal. These materials should be now seen as a material with wide usage especially in the construction industry. One possibility of their usage is a replacement of binding parts in floor systems. The aim is to find the optimal composition of the mixture, which fits all the technical requirements and at the same time reduces the cost of its production. An advanced methods of powder X-ray diffraction analysis, particle size laser diffraction analysis and X-ray fluorescence analysis were used to determine the raw materials. Based on these analysis the experiments were designed focusing on the mechanical properties, the observation of the evolution of hydration’s heat in prepared mixtures and their time of setting and hardening.

Alternativní kameniva na bázi druhotných surovin z energetického průmyslu / Alternative aggregates based on secondary raw materials from power industry

Kratochvíl, Jiří January 2014 (has links)
The current usage of both classical and fluid combustion ashes is not sufficient and they are deposited in large quantities. The focus of this master´s thesis is to determine and verify some possibilities of their suitable applications in construction industry, specifically as the alternative aggregates for concrete. After the performed analysis several systems based on both classical and fluid combustion ashes have been proposed. Portland cement and hydrated lime were used as admixtures and binding properties of fluid combustion ashes were also tested. The most important properties were compressive strength and bulk density. The aim was to appropriate an optimal ratio between the addition of modifying substance and resulting strength of prepared aggregate in order to correspond to standards for aggregates for concrete.

Energetické využití komunálního odpadu / Recovery of Energy from Municipal Wastes

Šíma, Kamil January 2010 (has links)
The topic of the diplome thesis is draft of the waste-to-energy plant for municipal waste with cogeneration of heat. Basic specification of project: Waste-to-Energy plant is facilitated by two rotary kilns of type operating in parallel. Further flue gas leaving the post-combustor enters a multicyclone unit to separate substatial portion of fly-ash. Heat of flue gas at the temperature of 1000°C generates superheated steam in a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG). Dry sorption process is appllied for flue gas treatment. Specifically sodium bi-carbonate is used for it. Products of reactions and remnants of dust are separated by a baghouse. Superheated steam, generated by two HRSG, presents the inlet stream of a condensing steam turbine with steam extraction. The diploma thesis contains calculation of major devices and basic economical and financial statement of project.
