S?o enfocados os fen?menos de gera??o de for?as que se op?em ? varia??o de fluxos magn?ticos estacion?rios, produzidos por alimenta??o em corrente cont?nua, postos em movimento pela aplica??o de uma for?a propulsora externa. O estudo ? motivado pela busca por solucionar o problema do controle de velocidade dos PIG?s empregados na verifica??o e manuten??o de tubula??es, e ? conduzido com base na sintetiza??o de modelos anal?ticos, os quais s?o validados por interm?dio de simula??es computacionais no ambiente dos Elementos Finitos, providas por softwares de apoio ? engenharia; e por meio de ensaios experimentais conduzidos em laborat?rio sob condi??es controladas. Por fim, ? apresentada uma metodologia para o projeto de sistemas de frenagem dessa natureza com base nos resultados obtidos das an?lises desenvolvidas ao longo do estudo / This work deals with the analytical, computational and experimental study of phenomena related to the Eddy current induction in low permeability means for embedded electromagnetic braking systems applications. The phenomena of forces generation in opposing to the variation of stationary magnetic flux produced by DC power supplies, set in motion by the application of an external propulsive force are addressed. The study is motivated by search for solving the problem of speed control of PIGs used to verifying and maintaining pipelines, and is led based on the analytical models synthesis, validated by means of computer simulations in Finite Elements environment, provided by engineering support software; and with experimental tests conducted under controlled laboratory conditions. Finally, a damping systems design methodology based on analyzes results conducted throughout the study is presented
