Porém, este projeto não somente a cidade, visto que, com o passar dos anos, a mesma começou a se expandir e a criar novas áreas de expansão urbana. Assim, a presente dissertação de mestrado teve como objetivo principal analisar, avaliar e comparar os níveis de vulnerabilidade ambientais do município englobando o projeto urbanístico original da cidade de Maringá, em contraponto com as áreas que surgiram após a sua expansão urbana. A metodologia envolve a revisão bibliográfica sobre questões ambientais urbanas, planejamento e desenvolvimento sustentável em cidades e a relação com aspectos da geomorfologia. Desta forma, através do uso de software cartográfico Software ArcGis 10.3, foi confeccionada a carta de Vulnerabilidade Ambiental adaptada da metodologia de Ross (1994) e Ross (1996). A carta é o resultado do cruzamento de dados do meio físico da paisagem, tais como declividade, solos, dissecação do relevo, geologia, bem como também do uso e ocupação da terra. Identificou-se 4 níveis de Vulnerabilidade Ambiental no município de Maringá-PR (muito baixa, baixa, média e alta), partindo de seu plano urbanístico inicial até compreender todo o território do município. Para aferição dos níveis de vulnerabilidade, foram analisados sete pontos de amostragem, onde elaborou-se a carta de aptidão a ocupação urbana com os níveis de inadequadas, com restrições, admissíveis e adequadas. Espera-se que a presente pesquisa, possa contribuir no ordenamento territorial das formas de ocupação e expansão da malha urbana sobre o relevo, respeitando os níveis de vulnerabilidade ambiental do meio físico, a fim de evitar gerar problemas ambientais e sociais no município de Maringá-PR. / The city of Maringá-PR has, in its original architectural design, an urban network with neighborhoods and planned streets. However, this project does not cover the entire city, since, over the years, it has begun to expand and to create new areas of urban expansion. analyze, evaluate and compare the levels of environmental vulnerability of the municipality encompassing the original urban development project of the city of Maringá, in counterpoint to the areas that emerged after its urban expansion. The methodology involves the literature review on urban environmental issues, sustainable urban planning and development and the relationship with aspects of geomorphology. Thus, through the use of cartographic software, ArcGis 10.3, the Environmental Vulnerability letter adapted from the methodology of Ross (1994) and Ross (1996) was prepared. The chart is the result of cross-referencing physical landscape data, such as declivity, soil, relief dissection, geology, as well as land use and occupation. It was identified 4 levels of Environmental Vulnerability in the municipality of Maringá-PR (very low, low, medium and high), starting from its initial urban plan until it understood the entire territory of the municipality. In order to assess the levels of vulnerability, seven sampling points were analyzed, where the suitability letter for the urban occupation was elaborated with the levels of inadequate, with restrictions, admissible and adequate. It is hoped that the present research will contribute to the territorial organization of the forms of occupation and expansion of the urban network on the relief, respecting the levels of environmental vulnerability of the physical environment, in order to avoid generating environmental and social problems in the municipality of Maringá- PR.
