This work aims to examine the complexity of the current turbulent relationship between Slovakia and Hungary and its influence on the system of Carpathian states. The work is based on the Gérard Dussouy"s (2010) and Gyula Csurgai"s (2009) new geopolitical approach and offers a systemic, dynamic and interdisciplinary analysis of the development in Carpathian basin. The work indentifies the key factors that are feeding the Slovak-Hungarian relations. Consequently, it offers further prospectives of these relations and their reflection within the Carpathian Basin. Moreover, the analysis enables measuring of further development of the Carpathian region.

We start from a brief reconstitution of the concept of region in the history of geographical thought, seeking to understand its influence in the Middle Eastern spatial delimitation. This reflection is necessary due to the regional connotation of expression Middle East. We investigated different sources such as sites, Para didactic books and journals to see how the Middle East is represented spatially and we established the differences and the similarities in those representations as well as contextualized the moment when the expression was created and what factors were determinants in that process. After that, we analyzed the way the Middle East was represented in the Geography textbooks for EM. The investigation highlighted territorial imprecision as well as theoretical and conceptual weaknesses in the expression. Besides that, it found the bases of those representations in Geopolitics. The study made it possible to understand that the various views of world produced since European Imperialism in XX Century created various representations of the Middle East and that the Geography textbooks reproduce them, but they do not make clear for the readers the polemics related to spatial reach of the Middle East / A pesquisa tem como finalidade estabelecer uma reflexão em torno do conceito de Oriente Médio, com o objetivo de compreender a origem das várias representações que o termo apresenta. Assim como, verificar se os livros didáticos de geografia do Ensino Médio, selecionados pelo Programa Nacional do Livro para o Ensino Médio (PNLEM), apresentam incorreções teóricas ou disseminam visões preconceituosas em relação ao Oriente Médio. Partimos de uma breve reconstituição do conceito de região na história do pensamento geográfico, buscando compreender a influência desse conceito na delimitação espacial do Oriente Médio. Essa reflexão se fez necessária, em decorrência da conotação regional que a expressão Oriente Médio comporta. Investigamos em diversas fontes sites, paradidáticos e periódicos como o Oriente Médio é representado espacialmente e estabelecemos as semelhanças e diferenças presentes nessas representações, bem como buscamos contextualizar o momento em que a expressão é criada e quais fatores foram determinantes nesse processo. Para então analisarmos de que forma esse conceito é apresentado nos livros didáticos de Geografia do Ensino Médio. A averiguação evidenciou a imprecisão territorial e a fragilidade teórica conceitual que a expressão representa além de encontrar na geopolítica as bases para essas representações. A pesquisa possibilitou compreender que as várias visões de mundo produzidas a partir do Imperialismo europeu do século XX, criaram diversas representações do Oriente Médio e que os livros didáticos de geografia reproduzem essas representações, porém não esclarecem aos seus leitores quanto à polêmica que envolve a abrangência espacial do Oriente Médio

In the present study we investigate the impacts of carceral confinement by means of the judiciary practices related to the execution of the penalty of deprivation of liberty in the state of Sergipe. We give privilege to an ethnographic perspective of insertion in the research field and use procedures of qualitative research: semi-structured interviews, participant observation, register and analysis of the field diaries, analysis of documents and records made by judiciary and administrative institutions. The professional condition of a psychologist in a Penal Executions Court has allowed a privileged access to the organizations and to the social actors and, on the other hand, deflagrated the insertion of the researcher as part of the very phenomena that she intended to study. We have identified, in the carceral system of Sergipe, that the geographic disposition of the prisons is a strong strategic component of the penal operation. As from this are engendered complex effects of power, whose logic we denominate penal geopolitics. We point the factors that work in the composition of the mechanisms of carceral recruitment to a certain clientele. We describe and analyse how judiciary devices work as propellers of the impacts that imprisonment inflicts as much upon those who are directly submitted to it as upon their respective socio-familiar and other relations. / Neste estudo, investigamos os impactos do confinamento prisional através das práticas judiciárias correlatas à execução da pena privativa de liberdade no estado de Sergipe. Privilegiamos uma perspectiva etnográfica de inserção no campo de pesquisa e utilizamos procedimentos da pesquisa qualitativa: entrevistas semiestruturadas, observação participante, registro e análise dos diários de campo, análise de documentos e de registros efetuados pelas instituições judiciárias e administrativas. A condição profissional de psicóloga numa Vara de Execuções Penais permitiu acesso privilegiado às organizações e aos atores sociais e, por outro lado, deflagrou a inserção da pesquisadora como parte dos próprios fenômenos que pretendia estudar. Identificamos no sistema prisional sergipano que a disposição geográfica das prisões é um forte componente estratégico do funcionamento penal. A partir disso, engendram-se complexos efeitos de poder, cuja lógica denominamos de geopolítica penal. Apontamos os fatores que atuam na composição dos mecanismos de recrutamento prisional sobre determinada clientela. Descrevemos e analisamos os modos de funcionamento dos dispositivos judiciários como propulsores dos impactos que o encarceramento impõe tanto aos que a ele são submetidos diretamente como também às suas respectivas relações de natureza sociofamiliar ou outras.
