Its typology is built, as well as attributes, functions, aplications and main constituent parts, besides the concepts and definitions of legal medicine, the specific literature and its most important authors, publications, services and information products, including the Internet. Using this analysis, it s possible to define the data base site for automation, and therefore, hasten the recovering and utilization process of these informations. The medical report, approached in the sphere of action of the police and the justice is emphasized in its social importance, considering the nowadays violence and criminality that characterizes our world at the present time. / Estudo do laudo médico - legal como fonte de informação, nos seus aspectos de documento de arquivo e conteúdo informacional, identificando o cenário e atores sociais envolvidos na geração, preservação, transferência, disseminação e uso da informação, em particular a Medicina Legal e os peritos. A sua tipologia é traçada, assim como atributos, funções, aplicações e principais partes componentes, em paralelo com os conceitos e definições de Medicina Legal, a literatura da área e seus principais autores, publicações, serviços e produtos de informação, inclusive na Internet. Com base nessa análise é possível definir os campos de uma base de dados para automação e conseqüente agilização do processo de recuperação e uso dessas informações. O laudo, abordado no âmbito policial e judiciário, é ressaltado na sua relevância social, considerando o panorama atual de violência e criminalidade que caracteriza o mundo contemporâneo.
