To this end, a didactic sequence was designed based on some principles of computer education and on notions from the theory of Raymond Duval (1999), who considers that a global interpretation procedure is important for graphical registers as well as taking into account the discrimination of relevant visual and the perception of variations corresponding to written algebra. A group of 5 pairs of students (aged 16-17 years) from a private school in São Paulo worked through the sequence. The results indicated that an evolution occurred in relation to the construction of meanings of the coefficients of the algebraic representations of affine functions associated with their graphical representations, that is, the corresponding line. The investigation shows that the software environment used in the study enabled new ways of working with students, assessing their progress and developing teaching and learning processes related to affine functions and particularly of conversion from the graphical register to the algebraic / Este trabalho tem por objetivo estudar a aquisição de saberes relacionados aos coeficientes da equação y = ax + b pela articulação dos registros gráfico e algébrico da função afim, com o auxílio de um software construído especialmente para esta finalidade. Para atingir este objetivo foi elaborada uma seqüência didática baseada em alguns princípios da Informática na Educação e na teoria de Raymond Duval (1999), que considera importante para as representações gráficas o procedimento de interpretação global, e leva em consideração a discriminação de variáveis visuais pertinentes e a percepção das variações correspondentes na escrita algébrica. A seqüência foi trabalhada com 5 duplas de alunos da 2ª série do ensino médio de uma escola particular em São Paulo. Os resultados obtidos revelam que houve uma evolução em relação à construção de significados dos coeficientes da representação algébrica da função afim associados a sua representação gráfica, isto é, a reta correspondente. A investigação evidencia que o ambiente informático estabelecido possibilitou uma nova forma de trabalhar com os alunos, de avaliar seus desempenhos, enfim, de desenvolver o processo de ensino-aprendizagem da função afim, mais especificamente da conversão do registro gráfico para o algébrico
