January 2014 (has links)
Abstract: Understanding of the concepts of soil compaction and its relationship to the harvest system of turfgrass sods are important tools to help to establish the appropriate management of soil physical conditions of Zoysiagrass sod production as well as improving its production process. Moreover, following the requirements for soil compaction levels at the moment of the turfgrass sods harvest is the best way to guarantee the quality of turfgrass for the following harvest cycles. In addition to that, it is essential to manage the appropriate levels of water and soil compaction at the moment of harvest. In this sense, the aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of irrigation and soil compaction levels according to the application of different loading levels applied to the soil (using a compactor roller at the moment of the sods harvest), enabling the removal of intact turfgrass sods as well as providing the minimum soil compaction level right below the sod layer removed, so that the subsequent development of turfgrass occurs quickly and appropriately. The experiment was conducted at "Sítio Paraíso" turfgrass commercial farm located in Tatuí - SP, owned by Gramas Xavier Company. It was considered the mechanical system harvest. The evaluation of the results occurred between May 9th, 2012 and May 15th, 2013. The soil in the area was previously characterized as a clay texture soil. It was utilized the turfgrass species Zoysia japonica Steud., commonly known as Esmeralda grass. Plots were arranged in a split-plot experimental design with four replications, with 48 experimental units in total. There were considered two factors of variation: water and compaction intensity. The factor water level (variations between 7.5 , 10 , 12.5 , and 15mm) was established in the day before the establishment of the soil compaction; the factor ... / Doutor

The experiment was conducted at FMVZ - UNESP Botucatu with objective to evaluate the production and morphological composition of Brachiaria brizantha submitted to 26 light intensities. The experimental design was a randomized block design in a factorial arrangement 2x3 (Piatã and Marandu x natural light, reduction of 30% and 60% light), with three replications and repeated measures. There was significant effects (p <0.05) of one or more factors (cultivar, brightness and cutting) and their interactions on the production of herbage dry matter, leaf and stem, accumulation rate, cumulative production, percentages leaf, stem and dead material, leaf:stem ratio, leaf area index, light interception and chlorophyll content. Lower light intensities provided lower cut interval. The percentage of leaves and ratio leaf:stem was higher for Marandu. The Marandu reduced 60% in brightness obtained higher daily rate of accumulation and cumulative production. There was production oscillation under moderate light with falls in unfavorable weather conditions. The light interception in Marandu did not affect the difference in light levels. The Piatã cultivated under direct sun light showed higher dry matter production of forage. The morphological composition of Marandu and Piatã was affected by the light reduction

A adubação mineral... / The production and permanence of crop residues at the soil surface provide favorable conditions to crop productivity and the maintenance of soil quality, mainly in hot regions where the high temperatures accelerate the decomposition process these residues. The objective of this work was to evaluate the decomposition of vegetable residues from different cover crops (CC) , with mineral fertilizer and without mineral fertilizer and their influence on the corn yield, in the deployment of no-tillage system. An experiment was conducted in two dates, between January 2011 and May 2012, in Ultisol in the municipality of Teresina-PI, Brazil. The experimental design was a randomized block “split plot”, with four replications. In the plots was used sunnhemp (SU), cowpea (CO), pigeon pea (PP), lab lab (LL), millet (MI), velvet bean (VB) and spontaneous vegetation (SV). In the subplots were used managements systems: fertilized (500 kg ha-1 of NPK 5-30-15 + Zn 0.3%), and non-fertilized. Decomposition and remaining dry mass (RDS) of cover crops were evaluated in polyethylene bags (litter bags), collected at time intervals of 0, 15, 30, 45, 65, 85 and 105 days after desiccation. At 105 days, sunnhemp and velvet bean were the species that showed a lower rate of decomposition. The mineral fertilization had positively influenced under the amount of RDS in the first thirty days of evaluation. The different species of cover cops did not affect the productivity of grains of corn in the second cultivation. The mineral fertilization resulted in increase of dry matter accumulation by cover crops, but did not influence the productivity of grains of corn growing in succession. The straw production with fertilization and behavior of cover crop is dependent of cultivation period. The velvet bean and millet were the species that had less influence of the growing season for dry matter productivity
