Využití GPU pro algoritmy grafiky a zpracování obrazu / Exploitation of GPU in graphics and image processing algorithms

Jošth, Radovan January 2015 (has links)

Automatic Generation of Building Model from Ground-Based LIDAR Data

Kai-Hsuan,Chan Unknown Date (has links)
Ground-based LIDAR system can be used to detect the surface of the buildings on the earth. In general, it produces large amount of high-precision point cloud data. These data include not only the three-dimensional space information, but also the color information. However, the number of point cloud data is huge and is difficult to be displayed efficiently. It’s necessary to use efficient data processing techniques in order to display these point cloud data in real-time. In this research, we construct the three-dimensional building model using the key points selected from a given set of point cloud data. The major works of our scheme consists of three parts. In the first part, we extract the key points from the given point cloud data through the help of a three-dimensional grid. These key points are used to construct a primitive model of the building. Then, we checked all the remaining points and decided whether these points are essential to the final building model. Finally, we transformed the color information into images and then used the transformed images to represent generic surface material of the three-dimensional model of the building. The goal of the final step is to make the model more realistic. In the experiments, we used the twin-tower of our university as our target. We successfully reduced the required data in displaying the building model and only about one percent of the original point cloud data are used in the final model. Hence, one can see the twin-tower from various view points in real-time. In addition, we use VRML to describe our model and the users can browse the results in real-time on internet.

Localization and quality enhancement for automatic recognition of vehicle license plates in video sequences / Localisation et amélioration de qualité pour reconnaissance automatique de plaques d'immatriculation de véhicules dans les séquences vidéo.

Nguyen, Chu Duc 29 June 2011 (has links)
Automatic reading of vehicle license plates is considered an approach to mass surveillance. It allows, through the detection / localization and optical recognition to identify a vehicle in the images or video sequences. Many applications such as traffic monitoring, detection of stolen vehicles, the toll or the management of entrance/ exit parking uses this method. Yet in spite of important progress made since the appearance of the first prototype sin 1979, with a recognition rate sometimes impressive thanks to advanced science and sensor technology, the constraints imposed for the operation of such systems limit laid. Indeed, the optimal use of techniques for localizing and recognizing license plates in operational scenarios requiring controlled lighting conditions and a limitation of the pose, velocity, or simply type plate. Automatic reading of vehicle license plates then remains an open research problem. The major contribution of this thesis is threefold. First, a new approach to robust license plate localization in images or image sequences is proposed. Then, improving the quality of the plates is treated with a localized adaptation of super-resolution technique. Finally, a unified model of location and super-resolution is proposed to reduce the time complexity of both approaches combined.

Studies show that 50% of children with multiple disabilities have some visual impairment, and 4% of all children are diagnosed with strabismus. The strabismus is an eye disability associated with handling capacity of the eye, defined as any deviation from perfect ocular alignment. Besides of aesthetic aspect, the child may report blurred or double vision . Ophthalmological cases not diagnosed correctly are reasons for many school abandonments. The Ministry of Education of Brazil points to the visually impaired as a challenge to the educators of children, particularly in literacy process. The traditional eye examination for diagnosis of strabismus can be accomplished by inducing the eye movements through the doctor s instructions to the patient. This procedure can be played through the computer aided analysis of images captured on video. This paper presents a proposal for distributed system to assist health professionals in remote diagnosis of visual impairment associated with motor abilities of the eye, such as strabismus. It is hoped through this proposal to contribute improving the rates of school learning for children, allowing better diagnosis and, consequently, the student accompaniment / A vis?o ? um dos cinco sentidos do corpo humano e, em crian?as, ? respons?vel por at? 80% da percep??o do mundo ao redor.

Reconstruction of trees from 3D point clouds

Stålberg, Martin January 2017 (has links)
The geometrical structure of a tree can consist of thousands, even millions, of branches, twigs and leaves in complex arrangements. The structure contains a lot of useful information and can be used for example to assess a tree's health or calculate parameters such as total wood volume or branch size distribution. Because of the complexity, capturing the structure of an entire tree used to be nearly impossible, but the increased availability and quality of particularly digital cameras and Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) instruments is making it increasingly possible. A set of digital images of a tree, or a point cloud of a tree from a LIDAR scan, contains a lot of data, but the information about the tree structure has to be extracted from this data through analysis. This work presents a method of reconstructing 3D models of trees from point clouds. The model is constructed from cylindrical segments which are added one by one. Bayesian inference is used to determine how to optimize the parameters of model segment candidates and whether or not to accept them as part of the model. A Hough transform for finding cylinders in point clouds is presented, and used as a heuristic to guide the proposals of model segment candidates. Previous related works have mainly focused on high density point clouds of sparse trees, whereas the objective of this work was to analyze low resolution point clouds of dense almond trees. The method is evaluated on artificial and real datasets and works rather well on high quality data, but performs poorly on low resolution data with gaps and occlusions.
