Leadership Development Process of Select House Church Networks in North America: A Multi-Case StudyTurner, Robert Lee 16 May 2011 (has links)
This dissertation analyzed the leadership development process among four North American house church networks. The study involved leader/trainers and house church leaders within all four networks. The intent of this study was is to reveal the competencies used by leader/trainers to select, develop, and sustain house church leaders. Accompanying the research findings a possible grounded theory of leadership development could emerge from the resultant analysis. This may occur because these four house church networks, though similar in house church philosophy, will also have attributes that differentiate themselves from the other networks
The research design for this study was a multiple case study. This qualitative research design was achieved by engaging in on-site interviews with leader/trainers and house church leaders among the four selected house church networks. The researcher traveled to the location of each house church network and spent a minimum of two days. This aided in providing a thick description of each network's geographical and cultural setting. There was one quantitative component involved in the research which employed Likert scales to measure objectively the self-perception of house church leaders toward the effectiveness and ineffectiveness of their leadership development.
The findings sought to relay practices of leadership development that are utilized by leader/trainers within the context of selected North American house churches. The findings could reveal a grounded theory or philosophy of leadership development that informs the practices of each network's leadership development process. The goal, therefore, was to expose ministry leaders, existing house church leaders, and potential house church planters of practices and philosophy of network leadership development that may be generalized to their own ministry context.

Poolhus / Pool houseSvensson, Yvonne January 2012 (has links)
The essay describes the bachelor project by Yvonne Svensson in collaboration with Claes Edman, entrepreneur. The projects goal was to design a pool house and to design an interior for this house inside and outside. The concept is confidential and for that reason I will not elaborate on the designs construction details. The pool house function is a guesthouse in the season and offseason it will function as a storage place and a lounge area. The house has a sauna, an outdoor shower, a porch and also an outdoor kitchen. The essay provides an overview of the target group and competitor analysis. Five different concepts will be reported and which of them I and my commission giver decided to continue to work with. The end product is a pool house that gives a value and comfort in the daily routine for them who has a pool.

Tribulations and tears: stories from the youth of the Norway House Cree NationFredette, Gilbert James 10 September 2014 (has links)
The nuances within the youth of the Norway House Cree Nation along with the escalation in drugs, gangs and violence have led to climbing incarceration rates within the youth population. This has resulted in social devastation in the community over the last few decades. Statistics alone do not provide individual or community perspectives, or the nuanced understanding that insider qualitative research provides. In-depth interviewing provides personal accounts from the youth, community members, and respected Elders, and helps to provide insights on the complexity of community life that are absent from statistical accounts. By the time this thesis is defended, another noose will tighten, another fatal gunshot will be fired, and another youth will overdose on drugs or another suicide attempt might succeed. For many who manage to escape death, they will continue to face a life of abuse, poverty, and an uncertain future that may lead to a lifetime of incarceration, and premature death. This is the reality for too many youth of the Norway House Cree Nation. The community looks directly to their leaders not only to guide the economic development of the community, but at a very personal level. Our youth are very astute and observant; community leaders must demonstrate positive and healthy behaviour within the leadership in order for positive youth outcomes. Ekosani!
