It works on three fields: the critique about the composer; the proposition of solutions to questions about his life and musical work; the establishment, through three of his songs, of a process of signification based on a semiotic line of reflection. The overall objective is to help the performer in the study of this repertoire. The conclusion of this work sees the songs of Hekel Tavares in conformity with the cultural hybridism theory. This positions his work in a cultural in-between / Esta dissertação trata das canções do compositor Hekel Tavares sob o ponto de vista da teoria antropológica da cultura e do hibridismo cultural. O texto trabalha sobre três campos: a crítica ao compositor; a proposição de respostas a questões pertinentes sobre sua vida e obra; o estabelecimento, em três canções, de processos de significação baseados na linha de reflexão semiótica. O objetivo geral é auxiliar o intérprete no estudo desse repertório. As considerações finais direcionam as canções de Hekel Tavares para uma conformidade com a teoria do hibridismo. Isso posiciona sua obra num entremeio cultural
