Burnos mikrofloros išplitimo odontologo ortopedo darbo metu tyrimai ir infekavimo prevencijos priemonių optimizavimas / Investigation of the oral microflora spread in the course of work of the dental orthopedist and optimisation of measures to prevent the transmission of infection

Junevičius, Jonas 13 December 2005 (has links)
Aim: to investigate regularities of the spread of oral microflora during manipulations performed by the dental orthopedist and evaluate the individual protection equipment and measures to prevent the spread of infections used by dentists and to improve them. Objectives 1. To investigate the formation of a spray and its spreading during preparation of the solid dental tissues. 2. To investigate the distribution of the mixture formed of the fluid of the oral cavity and cooling fluid in the work zone of the dentist’s in the course of preparation of solid dental tissues; to evaluate and optimize the effectiveness of suction systems. 3. To investigate the contamination of the plaster teeth models with oral microflora through alginate and silicon impressions and suggest the most optimal method of their disinfection. 4. To evaluate the efficacy of exposure to 0.12% chlorhexidine gluconate aqueous solution as a prophylactic agent used before starting dental procedures. 5. To determine changes in microbial contamination of the dentist’s protective face shield after preparation of the solid dental tissues. 6. To determine the level of usage of the individual protection equipment and measures to prevent the spread of infections among Lithuanian dentist. Novelty and practical significance of the research work. The following results characterize the novelty and practical significance of this research ; - an original methodology has been... Attitudes towards infection control among dental health care professionals / Infekcijų kontrolė odontologijoje odontologinės sveikatos priežiūros specialistų požiūriu

Rimkuvienė, Jūratė 30 June 2011 (has links)
The oral flora is one of the most ecologically diverse microbial populiations known to man. It has been proved that any dental intervention: dental preparation, professional oral hygiene, extraction of teeth, regular prophylactic examination of patient‘s mouth is related with a possible spread of infection. Therefore, one of the most important tasks for the dental care professionals is to prevent the spread of infection and create safe environment for a patient, the dentist himself and other dental staff The aim of the present study is to identify and evaluate the attitudes of Lithuanian dental health care professionals towards infection control and carried out infection control procedures, and to determine vaccination frequency against hepatitis B among dental health care professionals. The study highlighteningt the dental health care professionals‘ attitude towards infection control and infection control procedures as well as incompliance of infection control procedures with the valid normative documentation was conducted at the Institute of Odontology, Faculty of Medicine, Vilnius University in 2008-2010. All 2,235 Lithuanian dentists, registered in the Lithuanian Dental Chamber Registry in 2008 and carrying general practice dentist‘s license, all 1,814 dental assistants and all 370 dental hygienists registered in 2010 (according to the database of the Lithuanian Dental Chamber Registry) were invited to take part in the investigation. The participants of the study survey... [to full text] / Burna yra viena labiausiai infekuotų žmogaus organizmo sričių.

Nudegimo žaizdos infekcijos kontrolės galimybės / Possibilities of burn wound infection control

Bagdonas, Rokas 25 August 2005 (has links)
In our study we analyzed pathogenic microorganisms from burn wounds, their rate and changes after tightening the infection control. Special attention was paid to the diagnostics and treatment problems of Staphylococcus aureus. We have been studying Rational application algorithm of antibacterial drugs influence on the effectiveness of the infection diagnostics and treatment, and the changes of Staphylococcus aureus resistance to antibiotics. There was performed an experimental analysis of pathogenic microorganisms with „electronic nose“ and a comparison was made of changing parameters in „electronic nose“ resistance studying Acinetobacter spp., Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococus aureus pathogenic microorganisms. This experiment underlies further investigations of the early diagnostics of the pathogenic microorganisms. Our research works have characterized it from the complex standpoint to the solution of burn wound infection prevention, diagnostics, and treatment problems what is missing in analyzed literature.
