The objective of the present work was to develop a net radiometer, through the construction of different models of sensors, with different geometries and surface coverings. The basic sensor, which was called model I, consisted of a 2.6 x 7.8 x 0.2 cm phenolite plate, wound with a constantan wire, which was copper plated in half of each coil, using slow electrodeposition.Fifty thermocouples were formed, utilysing a 0.015 A current during four hours. To give protection and uniformity to the surfaces of the sensors, the thermopile was covered with a fine layer of commercial epoxi. Finnally, both surfaces were painted with a special paint, Nextel Velvet Black-3M-101-C10, of emissivity near 1. An attempt was made to decrease the heat transference by conduction, from one surface to the other, as observed in the model I, through different geometries of new plates. Thus, in the models II,III and IV the transference between the surfaces occurred mainly by convection and irradiation. As in this kind of net radiometer the sensor was directly exposed to the radiation flow for not having a shielding dome, convective term was eliminated through a air flow furnished by a radial blower. After calculating the calibration constants, one of the model I sensors was painted with a comercial spray paint...Note: The complete abstract is available with the full electronic digital thesis or dissertations / Mestrado / Biologia Vegetal / Mestre em Ciências Biológicas
