The question to become an area to intensific use, implies in determining that the local infrastructure has the capacity to take care of to a bigger amount of people, inhabitants or passers-by. In the quarter of Ponta Negra, in Natal city (state of RN), its condition of area to intensific use to the municipal Law 27/2000 happened due that it starts to allow a bigger level of occupation of part of the quarter. This law has a direct relation with the installation of a complementary infrastructure in the quarter, to put does not send to its complementation and maintenance, what it takes the consequences that are felt by the population. This work has as main objective the identification of the decurrent significant consequences of the creation of Ponta Negra s Intensific Use Zone, according to vision of the population of the quarter. The way followed for this involves the compatible bibliography research with the subject, analysis of documents that treat on the quarter, mappings of the area in search of a physical characterization and mainly, an application of questionnaire next to local population. In this questionnaire it is the main point of the necessary collection of data to the work, indicating the point of view of the population not only on the negative points, but also on the positive points that had happened since the creation of Intensific Use Zone. The answers indicate problems of natures social, infrastructure and enviromental, compatible with the problems of other areas that had passed the same for process, as point the studied bibliography, indicating imperfections in the planning process and maintenance of Ponta Negra s Intensific Use Zone / A discuss?o sobre o adensamento urbano de determinadas ?reas da cidade ? realizada em v?rios n?veis dentro da sociedade, devido ao fato de trazer influ?ncias diretas a popula??o que a habita. A quest?o de tornar uma ?rea adens?vel, implica em determinar que a infra-estrutura local tem a capacidade de atender a uma quantidade maior de pessoas, moradores ou passantes. No bairro de Ponta Negra, na cidade de Natal/ RN, sua condi??o de ?rea adens?vel aconteceu devido a Lei municipal 27/2000 que passa a permitir um maior n?vel de ocupa??o de parte do bairro. Esta lei tem uma rela??o direta com a instala??o de uma infra-estrutura complementar no bairro, porem n?o remete a sua complementa??o e manuten??o, o que leva a conseq??ncias que s?o sentidas pela popula??o. Este trabalho tem como principal objetivo a identifica??o das conseq??ncias significativas decorrentes da cria??o da Zona Adens?vel de Ponta Negra, segundo a vis?o da popula??o do bairro. O caminho seguido para isto envolve a pesquisa de bibliografia compat?vel com o tema, an?lise de documentos que tratem sobre o bairro, mapeamentos da ?rea em busca de uma caracteriza??o f?sica e principalmente, uma aplica??o de question?rio junto a popula??o local. Neste question?rio est? o principal ponto da coleta de dados necess?ria ao trabalho, indicando o ponto de vista da popula??o n?o apenas sobre os pontos negativos, mas tamb?m sobre os pontos positivos que aconteceram desde a cria??o da Zona Adens?vel. As respostas indicam problemas de natureza social, infra-estrutura e ambiental, compat?veis com os problemas de outras ?reas que passaram pelo mesmo processo, conforme aponta a bibliografia estudada, indicando falhas no processo de planejamento e manuten??o da Zona Adens?vel de Ponta Negra
