L'étude porte sur le phénomène de l'immigration illégale. Le cas étudié est celui de la frontière Mexique États-Unis. La recherche a pour but d'évaluer les causes de l'immigration illégale en analysant les conditions économiques du Mexique ainsi que l’enforcement frontalier américain. Nous voulons savoir quel facteur a eu l'incidence la plus élevée sur le volume d'immigration illégale. Pour y arriver, nous présentons d'abord le cadre théorique ainsi que la méthodologie utilisés pour effectuer l'analyse. Par la suite, nous traçons l'historique des migrations internationales au 20ieme siècle pour nous concentrer sur le cas des migrations du Mexique vers les États-Unis. Enfin, nous vérifions l'hypothèse de recherche et formulons les conclusions à partir des résultats obtenus. L'étude confirme, pour le cas et la période retenus, que les conditions économiques influencent davantage le volume d'immigration illégale que l’enforcement frontalier. / The thesis treats the phenomenon of illegal immigration. The case study subject is illegal immigration across the Mexican-American border. The thesis attempts to evaluate the causes of illegal immigration by analyzing Mexican economic conditions as well as United States border enforcement policies, in order to single out the factor having the greatest impact on the volume of illegal immigration. To this end, the theoretical framework and methodology applied are first presented. Next, the history of international immigration in the 20th century is described, which leads to a discussion of the case of immigration from Mexico to the United States. Lastly, the hypothesis of the research is tested against results obtained, and conclusions are drawn. The study confirms that under this case study and the period of time chosen, economic conditions have a greater influence on the volume of illegal immigration than border enforcement.
