Validade e confiabilidade do teste de comprometimento funcional da mão, pescoço, ombro e braço - FIT-HaNSA em pacientes com epicondiloalgia lateral do cotovelo / Validity and reliability of the functional impairment test-hand, and neck/shoulder/arm - FIT-HaNSA in patients with elbow lateral epicondylalgia

Pínola, Livia Nahas 01 August 2016 (has links)
Introduction: The lateral epicondylalgia (LE) is characterized by a musculoskeletal disorder involving the common extensor tendon which is originated at the lateral epicondyle. The Functional Impairment Test-Hand, and Neck/ Shoulder/Arm - FIT-HANSA was developed to analyze the performance during three tasks that perform repetitive activities of the upper limb elevation, and sustained postures, in patients with dysfunction in the shoulder, measured up to 300 seconds. The aim of this study was to evaluate the reliability and validity of FIT-HANSA in patients with LE and evaluate the biomechanical strategies used by the upper limb during the execution of this test. Method: A Brazilian version of FIT-HANSA device has been developed. The study included 10 healthy volunteers and 20 patients with LE. For the analysis of reliability we used the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) with a confidence interval (CI) of 95%, using the SPSS. For the analysis of the construct validity, the Spearman\'s correlation coefficient (r) was calculated in Software Mini Tab®. They were collected handgrip data, pain threshold and questionnaire DASH. Electromyographic data was collected using a Delsys® (Trigno® Wireless Systems) equipment. The preparation of skin followed the recommendations of SENIAM Project. The electrodes were placed in the trunk muscles, back, arm and forearm. For kinematic analysis we used a software for 3D image analysis (Vicon Motion Systems Ltd ®), composed of 8 infrared cameras, which capture the movement through 16 reflective markers. Kinematic and electromyographic data were acquired synchronized and simultaneously via Vicon Nexus® Software and signal processing was performed offline in Matlab® software. Statistical analysis was performed by means of analysis of variance (ANOVA) and post hoc Bonferroni (p <= 0.05). Results: The average time of the tasks 1, 2 and 3 were, respectively, 300s, 297s e 268s for the asymptomatic group and 249s, 141s e 264s for the patient group. The test showed between excellent and good test-retest reliability for the asymptomatic group for the tasks 1, 2 and 3 respectively 0.99 (0.91 to 0.99) and 0.89 (0.02 to 0.98) and 0.95 (0.54 to 0.99), and the group patients, excellent reliability for tasks 1 and 2 respectively, 0.98 (0.82 to 0.99) and 0.92 (0.29 to 0.99) and not acceptable for the task 3 0.60 (-2.76 to 0.95), without changing the painful pattern after the test. Moderate correlation was found between the average score of the test and pain (r = 0.67) and grip strength (r = 0.56) and weak correlation between the test and DASH questionnaire (r = -0.42). The long extensor Carpi ulnaris muscle was significantly active during the course of the three tasks. Conclusion: The adapted version of the FIT-HANSA-Br showed to be valid and reproducible for patients with LE. The main biomechanical strategy was greater activation of the extensor carpi ulnaris muscle with more ulnar deviation performed to hold the load-displacement. This tool can be used as an outcome variable in clinical studies to assess the effectiveness of physical therapy resources in the conservative treatment of LE.

Relationships between deformation and mesothermal veins in the Sunshine Mine Area, Coeur d'Alene district, Idaho

Ferraro, Jaclyn Marie 01 December 2013 (has links)
The Coeur d'Alene district in northern Idaho is a world class Pb-Ag mesothermal vein system that has produced about 360 million ounces of silver, lead, and zinc since the 1880s. Despite the long history of exploration and production, the district does not have a predictive model for exploration based on a sound understanding of structural controls on the silver ore deposits; this is certainly the case for the Sunshine Mine and surrounding area. Fault kinematic history in the district shows a regional scale fault system reactivated over time with dextral, sinistral, and dip-slip displacement. The fault system is superimposed on regional deformation fabrics that were examined for this study in the Sunshine Mine area. Cleavage sets observed in the Sunshine mine area, distinguished by orientation and superposition relationships, are consistent with the findings of Smith (2004) which defined cleavage sets referred to as S1, S2, and S3. Two additional deformation fabrics that appear spatially tied to fault zones formed between development of cleavages S2 and S3. The multiple cleavages, fault zones, and their intersections are interpreted to act as pathways for hydrothermal fluids associated with vein formation and silver ore deposition. Thin section kinematic analysis of vein and shear zone samples defined a dip-slip sense of shear associated with the Sterling vein. Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) analysis of vein and shear zone samples failed to define a lattice preferred crystallographic orientation that defined shear sense. Similarly, cathodoluminescence (CL) analysis of thin section textures failed to define a dominant shear sense and fault kinematics. Nevertheless, additional study using these techniques is warranted. Both field observation and thin section analysis demonstrate a direct relationship between shear zones, veins, and mineralization potential, clarifying the need for detailed fault maps for the Sunshine Mine area and Coeur d'Alene district.

Assessment Of Slope Stability For A Segment (km: 25+600-26+000) Of Antalya-korkuteli Highway

Arikan, Asli Huriye 01 July 2010 (has links) (PDF)
The cut slopes at a segment between Km 25+600 and 26+000 of the Antalya-Burdur Breakaway-Korkuteli State Road to be newly constructed have slope instability problems due to the existence of highly jointed limestone. The purpose of this study is to investigate the engineering geological properties of the units exposed at three cut slopes, to assess stability of the cut slopes, and to recommend remedial measures for the problematic sections. In this respect, both field and laboratory studies have been carried out. The limestone exposed at the cut slopes are beige to gray, fine grained, fossiliferous, and highly jointed. It has two joint sets and a bedding plane as main discontinuities. The kinematic analysis indicates that planar failure is expected at Km: 25+900. Limit equilibrium analysis show that the cut slopes with bench have no slope instability problems except rockfalls which endanger the traffic safety. In this thesis it is recommended to covering the cut slope with wire mesh and fibre reinforced shotcrete

Using two- and three-dimensional kinematic analysis to compare functional outcomes in patients who have undergone facial reanimation surgery

Dunwald, Lisa 11 1900 (has links)
The current study was designed to: (1) compare the sensitivity of a 2-dimensional video-based system with a 3-dimensional optical system, and (2) investigate movement on the affected and unaffected side of the face during the production of various functional movement tasks in 5 patients who had undergone facial reanimation surgery. The study showed that: (1) distance is the most valuable measure for evaluating facial paralysis, regardless of system; (2) movements associated with maximal contraction and running speech tasks are most informative when assessing facial paralysis; (3) area and volume ratios may be an appropriate measure for tracking changes in facial movement over time; (4) velocity and acceleration measures provide minimal information regarding facial movement; and (5) 2-dimensional analysis is most effective when distance is measured during maximal contraction and running speech tasks. Both systems were effective in tracking small movements of the face, but the 3-dimensional system was superior overall.

Fatores determinantes no desempenho do teste yo-yo intermitente recuperativo nível 1(YYIR1) / Determining factors in yo-yo Intermittent recovery level 1 test (YYIR1) performance

Wonder Passoni Higino 24 September 2013 (has links)
The intermittents characteristics of the soccer require the application of specific tests to this game. The Yo-yo intermittent recovery level 1 test (YYIR1) is considered a reliable and specific test in the evaluation of soccer players. However, the variables that influence their performance is little known. The present study aimed at finding out the variables which determine the final YYIR1 performance test in the soccer field. Therefore ten soccer players in the U-20 field underwent three evaluation sessions in which the following variables were determined: a) body composition (% BF) and maximal dynamic strength (1RM) in the squat exercise; b) running economy (RE) and the variables related to power (VO2max and vVO2max), aerobic capacity (anaerobic threshold - AT-3,5mM) on treadmill, and c) determining directly in the YYIR1 test the respiratory variables and analysing the displacement kinematic that causes the average peak acceleration (PA-average) and the average peak velocity (VP-average) during the stages. Before and after the treadmill test (ET) and the YYIR1 test there were determined the height of the vertical jump (Alt-jump), the time of contact with the ground (TC-jump) and reactive strength index (RSI-jump) through Drop Jump technique. Additionally, in both tests there were determined energy holdings. The main results were: a) there was a significant difference between the indicated treadmill VO2max (57.33 ± 3.4 ml/kg/min) and the YYIR1 test (53.57 ± 2.67 ml/kg/min) and these indicators were not correlated; b) the energy participation in TE (92.31 ± 1.79%) and in the YYIR1 (74.08 ± 6.88%) was predominantly aerobic; however the YYIR1 test had a greater anaerobic participation compared to TE (25.91 ± 6 , 7.67 ± 1.79 and 88%, respectively); c) the variables evaluated in the Drop Jump were not affected by the ET, and the YYIR1; d) no variable related to the power capacity (1RM 1RM/MCT; Alt-jump, TC-jump and IFR-jump) was correlated to the YYIR1 final performance; e) the % BF (r = -0.63), VO2max (r = 0.74), vVO2max (r = 0.86), AT-3,5mM (r = 0.76), AP-average (r = 0 , 77) and anaerobic alactic participation in the YYIR1 (r = -0.65) showed significant correlation with the final performance in the YYIR1; f) among these only the vVO2max and anaerobic alactic participation in the YYIR1 were determinant in the final performance. The conclusion is that, although correlated with other variables, the final YYIR1 was influenced by the greater vVO2max determined in the TE and the lower participation of the anaerobic alactic metabolism in the YYIR1

The Brazilian’s Atlantic coast is covered by Tropical Atlantic Forest, especially in the States of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Santa Catarina. It suffers from severe landslide phenomena because of its meteorological, geological and geomorphological settings. Studies have shown that there is not an only single triggering causal factor, highlighting the complexity of these processes. However, it was recognized that many landslide locations are located on gneiss - migmatitic terrain with particular geological discontinuities. The objective of this work is to assess the landslide occurrence in Serra do Mar (Caraguatatuba and São Sebastião, SP) determined by foliation and fractures of rocks using kinematic analysis. Kinematic Analysis allows obtaining the discontinuities that are more favorable to landslides occurrence and their relation with hill slopes directions. Both, structural information and kinematic data models area methods recognized by evaluating cause-effect of landslides process. The results show that slopes with the same dip orientation as foliation and bedding planes (NE-SW), have great potential for the occurrence of landslides. The rock weathering in dip orientation of the foliation plane, which orientates the water, can intensify mass movement. The great majority of landslides locations are found in slopes dipping to SE and NW (confirmed by kinemactic analysis), indicanting a structural control on landslides occurrence in the study area. This study contributes to a better understanding of how geological structures, preserved in tropical residual soils, influence shallow landslides.

Kinematika cervikothorakálního regionu páteře v kontextu celkového držení těla / Kinematic of cervical thoracic spine in the context of whole body posture

Vláčilová, Ivana January 2015 (has links)
Title: Kinematic of cervical thoracic spine in the context of whole body posture Problematics: This work describes the kinematics of upper thoracic spine during specific movement of the shoulder girdle. The kinematic changes are evaluated with the relationship of the whole body posture. Aim: To develop the objective evaluation of the posture and the amount of the segmental spinal movement of cervical thoracic spine. To describe the relationship between the specific movement of arm - adduction and external humeral rotation - and the posture using 3D kinematic analysis. To objectify this tested movement as a diagnostic tool or a therapy for forward head posture. Methods: The theoretical part of this work summarizes the current knowledge of poor posture and there is defined the upright posture. The experimental part describes the measurement of the movement of shoulder girdle and its response to the axial system using 3D kinematic analysis. Result: The results of kinematic 3D motion analysis show that the external humeral rotation with adduction of the shoulder leads to the upright posture if there is the horizontal position of the thorax and pelvis. The posture was divided due to the physiological or pathological response with this simple movement. Conclusion: A new model for evaluation of the...

Dvořáčková, Terezie January 2018 (has links)
Title: The relationship between Véle-test results and results of instrumented evaluation of postural stability Objectives: The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between a clinical tool for measuring postural stability, Véle-test and instrumented evalution of the same modality. The observed parameters are COM movement, range of motion in hip joints and in the functional complex of ankle and foot. An additional pedobarographic measurement was performed to define the relationship between Véle-test results and foot loading assymetry. The characteristics of this study suggest that our objective is also to find an approppriate aproach to further objectivization and stardardization of the Véle-test. In the first part of this thesis, I define the theoretical background for the experiment. Also, the current insight of physical therapy and biomechanics on the functional complex of the ankle and foot is described. Methods: The subjects (n=15, mean age 24y) were divided into two groups (S1, n1=7; S2, n2=8) according to the results of Véle test. Further, they underwent instrumented testing by pliance-x® sensing system, a 60s pedobarographic measurement was held in quiet standing. After, the Xsens MVN Link suit for 3D kinematic analysis was applied and the subjects were measured in two different...
