For this purpose, children adjectives and its intertwining with a pedagogical project for childhood have been problematized, which gives it a lesser position as literature. However, the inversion of the term “lesser” has been sought, not by dimensioning it as inferiority, but as potency and possibility of resistance. Analyses of some children books have been performed to point out the ambiguity of that literary production: on the one hand, investments of modern knowledge-power on childhood; on the other hand, invention of new worlds. For this discussion, this work has especially relied on studies by Foucault, Deleuze and Guattari, aiming at reflecting about the complex relationships between the pedagogical and esthetical projects that are present in children literature, and how they have delineated childhood. From the discourses about children, the production of modes of existence have been considered, i. e., practices that enable us to see, talk about, and live childhood in certain ways, thus building manners of being in the world.
