Niche market cropping can be a source of economic development to economically depressed rural areas. The thesis takes place in the four counties of Wise, Russell, Scott and Dickenson and this study region is used to develop the ideas of limited regional competition, and product diversity for niche cropping enterprises. These ideas create an identity for the region that reflects upon the farms and the products they produce. This thesis is intended to be a tool for county extension agents and economic development professionals to use in the pursuit of guiding small farmers and land-owners into successful niche cropping enterprises. This diploma thesis called "Assessment of changes in land tenure and land use in selected locality" is divided into a theoretical and practical part. In the first part, there is written a literary research, introducing the issue of land tenure in the Czech Republic. In the research, there is a comprehensive overview of historical registers of land tenure, coupled with major historical events and milestones affecting land ownership. Particular attention is paid here to the stable cadastre, from which is the practical part of this work based. An integral part of the research is the analysis of current land use of the Czech Republic, with the factors influencing it. The second part is devoted to the cadastral territory of Roupov, where a complete analysis and comparison of historical and current land use is made, together with comparison of ownership relations and evaluation of their mutual analogy within the time span between periods. Here are presented own map outputs, tables and charts. At the end of the thesis, attention was focused on identification of possible causes, causing changes in land use and comparison of land ownership.

This diploma thesis deals with the genre of intercultural children's literature and the literature for young adults on the example of the analysis of current German works. The used method is a combination of structural analysis of compositional, language and thematic component of the works, content analysis and the theory of reader-response criticism. Based on the analysis of four works, the genre of intercultural literature is defined in the relation with the themes of home, homeland and cultural identity. Home is defined not only as a physical space to live but also in the spiritual sense of the word represented by the family relationships, which mean safety and security to the figures. Homeland is perceived as an extended paralell to home. It is a space which is close to the figures and they can easily understand the relations here. Home and homeland both influence the concept of identity, environment being the most important aspect of it. The figures are in conflict of their roles being assigned to them by their environment and the way they define themselves. If the figures have to choose between their home and homeland, they choose their home in the spiritual sense - their family. If the family fails to fulfil its role, they search for the comfort in their homeland.
