Osbeck, com a finalidade de verificar se o caráter de enrolamento permanente das folhas do cultivar Folha Murcha é acompanhado por modificações anatômicas. Para este estudo foram utilizadas folhas em três estádios de crescimento: folha jovem, em expansão e adulta. Em cada estádio de crescimento foram feitos cortes no ápice, terço médio, base cortes na região apical, mediana e basal. Os resultados obtidos mostraram que as folhas destes cultivares apresentam características semelhantes em quase toas as regiões estudadas. Algumas diferenças foram, entretanto, notadas. Estas referem-se a largura das células epidérmicas, à disposição dos elementos vasculares da nervura principal na região do terço médio e à folha diferenciação dos tecidos do mesófilo, mais precoce nas folha jovens do cultivar Folha Murcha / Abstract: A comparative anatomical study was made of two orange cultivars Folha Murcha and Pêra, both beonging to the species Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck. The objective of the study was to determine whether the permanent rolling of the leaves of cultivar Folha Murcha is accompanied anatomical modifications. Leaves at three stages of development were used: young leaves, expanding leaves and adults leaves. At each growth stage, section were cut at the apex, middle third, base and edge of the lamina, Section of the apical, median and basal regions of the petiole were also made. The results obtained showed that the leaves of these two cultivars are very similar in all the regions studied. Some differences were, however, noted. These included the width of the epidermal cells, the arrangement of vascular tissues of the midrib in the middle third region, the more precocious differentiation of the mesophyll cells in the young leaves of cultivar Folha Murcha / Mestrado / Mestre em Ciências Biológicas
