Intra and inter-tester reliability of the tuck jump assessmentHerrington, L.C., Meyer, G.D., Munro, Allan G. January 2013 (has links)
No / Objective
To assess the inter-tester and intra-tester reliability of the tuck jump test.
Design
Repeated measures.
Setting
University Human Performance laboratory.
Participants
Five male and 5 female athletes undertook the Tuck jump test which was then assessed by two independent assessors.
Main outcome measures
Score from the video assessment of the tuck jump test by two independent assessors on two separate occasions.
Results
Average percentage of exact agreement (PEA) between the two testers across all scoring criteria for all subjects was 93% (range 80–100%). Both testers were in absolute 100% agreement in 5 out of 10 subjects for all of the scoring criteria. The kappa measure of agreement was k = 0.88 which is very good/excellent. The intra-tester PEA ranged 87.2%–100%, with kappa values of k = 0.86–1.0.
Conclusion
The study showed very good–excellent intra-tester and inter-tester reliability for both examiners when comparing their individual scores of the tuck jump test across two analysis sessions. These findings indicate that the proposed tuck jump assessment is reliable to identify abnormal landing mechanics.

Mensuração do eixo mecânico e determinação do alinhamento do membro pélvico em cães com luxação de patela: estudo radiográfico no plano frontal e correlação com a fisiopatologia da doença / Measurement of the mechanical axis and determination of pelvic limb alignment of dogs with patellar luxation: radiographic study in the frontal plane and its correlation with the physiopathology of the diseaseGaleazzi, Viviane Sanchez 26 January 2016 (has links)
The misalignment of the pelvic limb dogs contributes to abnormal bone development and medial or lateral displacement of the extensor mechanism. Increased incidences of the patellar dislocation in medium and large dogs stimulated alignment study and the associated bone deformities. Thus, knowledge of the mechanical axis and the pelvic limb alignment, as well as their joint angles in the frontal plane is essential for the diagnosis, classification, quantification of the degree of deviation and for the design of corrective surgery. The purpose of this study was to measure the femoral and tibial articular angles and and assess the relationship between it and the different degrees of patellar luxation. Independent radiographs of the femur and tibia of dogs with or without patellar luxation were obtained in the craniocaudal and caudocranial projections, respectively. The radiographic images were digitally processed producing 92 x-ray exams of the pelvic limb in full extension that were divided into control and patella luxation groups. The patellar luxation group was divided according to the type of dislocation, medial or lateral, and dislocation grade. The joint angles, alignment and the mechanical axis of the pelvic limb were determined and the results were correlated with the disease. In conclusion, the degree of patellar dislocation interfered with the magnitude of the mechanical axis deviation and the value of mechanical femorotibial angle, the value of the mechanical lateral distal femoral angle was higher in dogs with patellar dislocation, suggesting the presence of femoral distal deformity.
