ESTIMATION OF ANNUAL AVERAGE DAILY TRAFFIC ON LOCAL ROADS IN KENTUCKY

Annual average daily traffic (AADT) is used to estimate intersection performance across Kentucky. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) currently collects AADTs for state maintained roads, but lacks this information on local roads. A method is needed to estimate local road AADTs in a cost-effective and reasonable manner. A literature review was conducted on AADT models and found no models suitable to Kentucky. Therefore an AADT model using non-linear regression was developed for local roads in Kentucky This model divided the state into three regions utilizing Kentucky’s highway districts. This partitioning accounted for geographic and socioeconomic variability across the state. Each regional model relied upon three independent variables: probe count, residential vehicle registration, and curve rating. HERE proprietary probe counts provide tracking visibility on a select portion of vehicles moving across Kentucky highways. Residential vehicle registrations were used to estimate trip generation information. Finally, the curve rating partially indicates accessibility. The models were adjusted to KYTC daily vehicle miles traveled (DVMT) county control totals for local roads. Sensitivity analysis was conducted to examine the impact of model errors for use in intersection safety analysis. Results indicate that the estimates generated can be effectively used for safety assessment and countermeasure prioritization.

In the project, I respected the norms and technical regulations.

It concerns Na Výsluní, Družstevní, K Chlumku, Kaštanka streets, as well as a traffic-important exit to Hamza´s specialist medical institution and a complete reconstruction, that includes also the increase in parking capacity in Andělská cesta Street. The thesis deals with a new design of the width of the roads, logical continuity of pavements, modification and a new layout of parking places in the vicinity of the Hamza´s medical institution, and finally with the modification of traffic-important exits and adjacent green vegetation.

The diploma thesis deals with traffic analyzes in the town of Letovice in the South Moravian Region. The traffic analysis was performed with respect to traffic at rest in the city. Part of the work is to map the current traffic situation, determine the traffic load of roads passing through the city and analyze the accidents according to the type and cause of traffic accidents. Thanks to the analysis of the current traffic situation, critical points concerning traffic at rest were determined, at which further measurements took place. After evaluating all performed analyzes and measurements, the necessary measures were proposed that can contribute to the improvement of the traffic situation in the city of Letovice.

This final thesis focuses on the intersection of Krásnopolská and Opavská Streets in Ostrava. The present intersection provides a main traffic connection between the city districts of Krásné Pole and Poruba. Opavská Street is part of the road I/11, a major traffic route between Opava and Ostrava. This final thesis focuses on the design options for a better connection of Krásnopolská Street with Opavská Street. The existing junction is technically unsatisfactory, mainly because the view for traffic is not ideal and previous adjustments to the corners of the intersection are inappropriate. All options are proposed in accordance with the applicable standards and regulations.

The aim of this work is to design variant solution Radňovice bypass of the village. Radňovice is located in the county Vsočina. Road I/19 which is conecting Nové Město na Moravě and Žďár nad Sázavou runs through the center of the village. Road I / 19 provides connections with surrounding villages and transport operators of the adjacent buildings. Most vehicles will only Radňovice crossed. Prospective route for the realignment of the road outside the buildings has tracked for a long time.They were proposed three variants, one of which was selected for detailed processing. There was measured actual traffic flow intensity and rating of perspective traffic intensity for newly designed state.
