"I heard it through the grapevine" : En studie om varför kinesiska studenter väljer att studera på universitetsnivå i Sverige / "I heard it through the grapevine"

Enmark, Linnea, Persson, Tova January 2017 (has links)
Vilka faktorer spelar in i kinesiska studenters jämförelse av olika studiedestinationer? / Purpose and research question: The aim of the thesis is to examine why Chinese students choose Sweden as a destination for studies abroad. With the above stated purpose in mind, the research questions are as follow: What factors influence Chinese students’ decision- making of studying abroad? What factors influence Chinese students comparison between different study destinations? How do these factors affect the decision to study in Sweden? Method: The study is based in a qualitative research method. The empirical data is collected through a pilot study with three semi-structured interviews with staff from Linnaeus University and a study with eight semi- structured interviews with Chinese students that currently are studying in Sweden or have studied in Sweden. Conclusion: Chinese students are highly affected by recommendations from alumni with experience from studying in Sweden. The result of the study indicate the importance of advice and recommendations from social links with similar experiences in the decision making when buying a high-involvement service in a culuture with a high degree of Hofstedeés cultural dimensions: collectivism and uncertainty avoidance.

This issue is devoted to the first part of the work. This is the theory needed to understand the basic principles and method of calculation tasks. The second part describes the developed application that can be solved one-product and multiproduct deterministic stock models, stochastic stock models and Markov decision processes with alternatives, and changing valuation of the transition. The description is supplemented with graphic images directly from the application, which makes using applications easier to understand. The part of work is also CD with created application.

Le rôle des think tanks dans le processus décisionnel européen / The role of think tanks in the european decision making process

Soulard, Ombeline 16 November 2018 (has links)
.Think tanks are actors that are part of a didactic and influence perspective. Through expertise and political recommendations, they seek to reach the political sphere. Although most of them emerged in Europe in the 1970s and 1980s and their growth began in the 2000s, think tanks are emerging players in the European decision-making process. They quickly managed to seize the various access points proposed by the European institutions and gradually became key and influential actors in the European decision-making process. The action targets are more specifically the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Committee of the Regions and the European Economic and Social Committee. The modalities and strategies of influence put in place by the think tanks to reach these institutions and organs take various forms.

PARENTAL FOOD CHOICE FOR THEIR PRESCHOOL AGED CHILD: A MEANS-END INVESTIGATION

Elizabeth I Kielb (10955094) 04 August 2021 (has links)

Preschoolers in the US are not meeting dietary guidelines, which is concerning since experience with foods during early childhood may influence food preferences in later life. To better understand why preschoolers are not meeting dietary guidelines it is necessary to understand the factors that influence why parents offer their children specific foods. The purpose of this study was to use the means-end framework and the laddering interview technique to better understand why parents of preschoolers decide to offer their children certain foods and why certain feeding strategies are helpful. A total of 33 parents of preschoolers (3–5-year-olds) completed one-on-one phone interviews regarding the foods they typically offer their child. Laddering data were elicited for three food groupings: foods parents typically offer, foods parents typically avoid, and foods parents prefer to offer. The resulting data were analyzed and summarized in a series of hierarchical value maps (HVMs). Parent and child-centric themes emerged as factors that influenced the foods parents offered their preschooler. The results of this study provide insight into the meanings and beliefs that impact the food decisions and feeding strategies used by parents of preschoolers.
