Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brasil / O tabagismo é considerado pela Organização Mundial da Saúde um problema de saúde pública, causando milhares de mortes em todo o mundo pelas doenças relacionadas ao tabaco. O tratamento do tabagismo no Brasil segue um protocolo instituído pelo Ministério da Saúde e executado pelo Instituto Nacional de Câncer, na rede do SUS \2013 Sistema Único de Saúde. Fazem parte desse protocolo cinco manuais: quatro para os usuários e um para o profissional que coordena o tratamento. A pesquisa desta dissertação teve como objetivo analisar as narrativas do tabagismo presentes nestes manuais, que são utilizados como suporte comunicacional no tratamento do fumante, no SUS. Buscou-se também identificar qual o modelo comunicacional presente nos manuais e identificar a concepção sobre emissor e destinatário construída nos seus enunciados. Inicialmente foi realizada uma descrição dos manuais, seguida de uma análise de como são estruturadas as narrativas do tabagismo, as formas de enunciação do emissor e dos destinatários e a construção dos enunciados em relação ao que é dito, como é dito e como são construídas as relações entre si. O referencial teórico-metodológico baseou-se na Semiologia dos Discursos Sociais, valendo-se particularmente da teoria da enunciação de Émile Benveniste O resultado do estudo aponta que o material analisado foi pautado por uma abordagem transferencial de comunicação, caracterizado pelo repasse de informações de um emissor para um receptor, esperando-se que este decodifique as mensagens recebidas. No caso dos manuais, a abordagem reforça a hegemonia do saber médico. Quanto ao tratamento do tabagismo, constatamos que a abordagem é cognitivo-comportamental, objetivando modelagem e mudança de comportamento. Finalizamos com a recomendação de que seja feito um estudo de recepção e apropriação desses manuais e uma avaliação dos mesmos com a participação dos usuários, dos coordenadores de saúde estaduais e municipais e dos profissionais capacitados para o tratamento do tabagismo no SUS, abrindo assim a possibilidade da elaboração de manuais mais aproximados da realidade dos pacientes e que possibilitem uma interlocução entre os envolvidos na sua produção e utilização / Smoking is considered a public health issue by the Worldwide Health Or ganization, since it results in millions death by deceases tobacco - related around the world. Smoking treatment in Brazil follows a protocol instituted by the Health Ministry and executed by the National Cancer Institute, in the SUS (Health Only System) lin e. There are five manuals belonging to said protocol: four to patients and one for the Professional that manages the treatment. This dissertation search sought analyzing the smoking narratives present in those manuals, which are used as support for communi cation in the treatment of the smoker, in the SUS. Also, identifying the model of communication present in the manuals and identifying the concept ab out the emitter and remitter built in their enunciation was an objective. At first, a description of the ma nuals was made, followed by an analysis of how smoking narratives are structured, the forms of enunciation of the emitter and of the remitter s and th e construction of the enunciations in relation of what is being said, how it is said and how the relations are built. The theoretical - methodological reference was base d in the Social Speaks Semiotics , using mainly the enunciation theory of Émile Benveniste as a model. The study result shows that the material analyzed was marked by a transferring approach of com munication, characterized by the transfer of information of an emitter to a receptor, expecting that s aid receptor decode the messages received. In the case of the manuals, the approach re in forces the hegemony of the medical knowledge. As of the smoking tr eatment, we found tha t the approach is cognitive - behavioral , aiming modeling and change of behavior. We ended it with the recommendation that a study of the reception and appropriation of the manuals and a review of the same with the participation of the p atients, of the state - and city - related health managers and of the capacitated professionals for smoking treatment in the SUS is done, this way having the possibility of the formulation of manuals closer to the patients reality and that have the possibilit y of an interlocution between the involved in the production and use.
