Title: Evaluation of the development of racketlon tournaments in the Czech Republic within the world Tour Aims: By this diploma thesis I am picking up the threads of my bachelor thesis, where the procedure of organisation of the 7. year of international racketlon tournament in the Czech Republic was described in detail. The purpose of this thesis is to bring closer and define the development of the organisation of Czech open in racketlon through its attendees' evaluation. The results of the evaluation will serve for improvement and adjustment of all organisational aspects when this sports event will be next organised. Another important goal of this thesis is to bring closer this so far not so known sport to the public and, eventually, to help with the organisation of a sports event of a similar kind. Methods: The survey on evaluation of tournament attendees' satisfaction with the development and quality of its organisation will be conducted through written and electronic questionnaire after IX. Czech Open Racketlon which was held in Prague from 12th to 14th April 2013. For the analysis and description of the organisation itself the case study approach will be used. Att turismifiera ett land : Ett svenskt perspektiv om Innovasjon Norges arbete som Destination Marketing Organisation utifrån en framställningsprocess.

Haglund, Elin, Löfstedt, Felicia January 2014 (has links)

Successful Destination Branding? : A case study of DMOs in Brussels, Istanbul and Stuttgart

Bergström, Joakim, Lehtinen, Maria, Svensson, Mariel January 2009 (has links)
<p>Tourism is an important source of economic growth for destinations, which is why the interest for destination branding has grown in recent years. Meanwhile, Destination Marketing Organisations (DMOs) often struggle to promote their destination successfully. For instance, many stakeholders influence the perception of a destination and therefore it is difficult to create a coherent image. Some destinations have a more successful destination branding, which not only depends on their marketing methods but also the pre-requisites of the city. Hence, destination branding is a complex process where there is no standard solution. Therefore, three different destinations are used as a basis for the thesis; Brussels, Istanbul and Stuttgart. What can be learned from the marketing methods in these destinations? The purpose of this thesis is to examine the current market position of Brussels, Istanbul and Stuttgart as tourist destinations and their marketing strategies and methods used to promote the destinations. We will identify general recommendations on how to improve the destination branding, and propose specific recommendations to selected DMOs in the destinations.</p><p>Through the use of specific descriptive criteria, such as unique selling points (USPs), image and marketing channels, as well as the conducting of interviews with employees in higher administrative positions within the selected DMOs, the thesis aims at providing the reader with a deeper knowledge in the field of destination branding. The Tourist Area Lifecycle Model was used to analyse the destinations to understand their situation today and future possibilities and challenges in marketing the cities as tourist destinations. Moreover, the concepts of comparative and competitive advantages and the integrative model by Ritchie and Croutch was used to discuss the competitiveness of the destinations. The research shows that DMOs face problems, such as the lack of a coherent image, common goals, the coordination of activities between DMOs in different levels and cooperation between different stakeholders. These are areas that need attention from the DMOs in order to achieve successful destination branding and are included in the conclusion, which helps DMOs to improve their marketing methods in order to achieve success in the promotion of their destination.</p>

The Marketing Function : - A case study of Skandia

Makloof, Frida, Sundberg, Therese January 2006 (has links)
<p>Background: The company Skandia desired for its marketing function to be reorganised to become customer oriented, joint, co-ordinated and homogenous in order to gain market shares. These aspects are both structural and strategic. The question of whether the way that Skandia has chosen to reorganise the new and joint marketing function, in terms of choices of structure, is preferable in order to obtain a high overall business performance emerged.</p><p>Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to, from a structural and manager perspective, explore and explain the structure of the marketing function in a customer oriented organisation.</p><p>Method: The thesis is a case study of Skandia. The empirical findings constitute of sex interviews with managers from various positions and functions along with e-mail interviews with twenty-three co-workers. The result from the empirical findings is a comprehensive image of the marketing function.</p><p>Result: The new marketing function in Skandia turned out to have structures of, for instance, increased centralisation, higher vertical formalisation and increased degree of specialisation, all in order to act customer oriented. The result shows that it seems preferable that the marketing function in a company as Skandia would configure the structure in this way. The explanation is that no matter whether structure follows strategy or the other way around, there are strong indications that it is the combined configuration of structure and strategic behaviour (in this case customer orientation) that forms a marketing function’s organisational archetype. This type in conjunction with the selected overall company business strategy implies an either high or low overall business performance. In the case of Skandia it is proved high.</p>
