Uluduz, Ozlem 01 August 2003 (has links) (PDF)
ABSTRACT CHANGING PATTERNS OF MARRIAGE AND FAMILY IN ENGLAND FROM THE LATE MEDIEVAL TO THE EARLY MODERN AGES ULUD&Uuml / Z, &Ouml / ZLEM M.S. Department of History Supervisor: Assist. Prof. Dr. Recep Boztemur August 2003, 132 pages This thesis analyzes the changing patterns of the institutions of family and marriage in England. The period covers the late medieval ages to the early modern ages until the middle of the eighteenth century, 1753, which represents the acceptance of an important Act on marriage by the English Parliament that ended ambiguities on the law of marriage. This study attempts to investigate the family institution and marriage practices of England, which represented a different character from other European countries throughout the period. Many important historical factors occurred throughout the period, which influenced the family structure and marriage practices such as the Reformation. Within this framework, throughout this thesis, the religious, political, economic and social factors that paved the way for transition in family and marriage will be analyzed. iii

Manželství a rozvod v České republice ve světle současné morálky / Marriage and divorce in the Czech Republic in light of present morality

Zemanová, Lydie January 2014 (has links)
The work draws a comparison between different views on marriage and divorce (e.g. from the perspective of the Catholic Church, profane view, the legal system of the Czech Republic). The aim of the study is to compare convictions and development of views on marriage and divorce in contemporary society. The work observes the release of morals under the influence of television and commercials. A question, whether art reflects the reality of people's lives, or determines them, also needs to be asked. Further, it examines if current people are able to think critically and looks at people's motivation. Other question is, how hard it may be to do a right thing when major society became reconciled to wrong. The issues will be answered in questionnaires. It is necessary to note though that the work is not binding as the research does not include a sufficient amount of questionnaires. In the work, the released sexuality and reasons for being "single" will be investigated. Using statistics we will try to predict the future course and to analyse natural and sacramental values of marriage, double indissolubility and unity, the relationship of marriage and society. Keywords: marriage, divorce, sexuality, theology, morals, canon law, family

Sňatky v meziválečném Japonsku: Analýza ženských časopisů / Marriages in Interwar Japan: Analyses of Women's Journals

Hiruta, Zuzana January 2018 (has links)
The thesis submitted deals with the topic of marriages in Interwar Japan through an analysis of the women's magazines (fujin zasshi) issued between 1920-1941. The women's role change brought about a gradual shift from a traditional ie-family structure to a new type of a partially atomized two-generation family. Consequently, the roles of man and women in a family have been revised since then. In relation to the modern thoughts incoming from the West, the Japanese started to perceive new ways of getting married, such as the liberal marriage (jiyū kekkon) or the love marriage (ren'ai kekkon), which have broken the old conventions of the traditional go-between marriage (miai kekkon). The purpose of this study is to show the views and opinions of men and women on marriage, establishing the family, spouse relationships, etc. by analyzing the women's magazines and to ansewer the reasearch questions. The analysis is based not only on the regular magazine articles, but also on the editorial interviews (zadankai) and counseling columns (mi no ue sōdan). At first, I introduce the women's magazines, their brief history, purpose and characteristic features. The following chapter discusses the historical background of the women's position from the social point of view, rather than political, and then mentions...

Specifické metody sociální práce s rodinou v průběhu řízení o výkonu rodičovské odpovědnosti po rozvodu manželství / Specific Methods of Social Work with Families in the Course of the Exercise of Parental Responsibility after Divorce

BALOUN, Ingrid January 2016 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the specific methods of social work with a family during the post-divorce child custody trial. The goal of my thesis is to find out what methods are applied by social workers during their work with families at child custody trial. I stated the research inquiry as follows: what are the barriers identifed by social workers during their work with families undergoing a post-divorce child custody trial? As for the empirical part of the thesis, I adopted the method of qualitative research in the form of partially structured interviews with social workers. The interviewed sample consists of twelve social workers who were at the time engaged in post-divorce child custody trials. Two main critierions were set for selecting the twelve interviewees - the first criterion being that the social workers must be currently working with families during a post-divorce child custody trial, and the second being that all the social workers have been working for an institution for social and legal protection of children for at least one year. The research has brought the following outcomes: the social workers in question mostly adopt the task-oriented approach as well as the anti-oppressive approach. During a conversation with clients the most commonly used method is active listening. With children, it would be the drawing method. On my way to reaching the goal of my thesis I identified a social workers related problem: half the interviewees did not know what methods there are in the field of social work. Most interviewees said that the biggest barrier in their work is the client who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs and also one that is aggressive. The thesis identified some demerits of social workers as well as their seniors, for instance the failing to follow the norms, and could, hopefully help them to realize these flaws and retrieve them in the future.
