This thesis analyze the economic development and FDI prospects in the context of the Free Trade Agreements that Mexico has signed in the context of NAFTA with the United States and Canada, as well as EU-MEXICO FTA with the European Union. The analysis will be focused around the regional allocation of FDI, the analysis of the main industrial sectors where FDI lands and on the most active foreign investors in the country. However, a new series of reforms and measures to advance liberalization have triggered the interest of other countries to invest in Mexico; Most notably, from Europe. These new FDI inflows are being allocated in different regions and shifting away from manufacturing industries into the service sectors and on to new investment opportunities in strategic industries.

Práce se zabývá analýzou příčin finančních krizí v Mexiku a jihovýchodní Asii. Finanční krize v Mexiku (1994) byla první svého druhu v novodobé historii a zasáhla mnoho dalších ekonomik především v Latinské Americe. Krize, která propukla v roce 1997 v Asii, byla naprosto neočekávaná. Cílem práce je tedy identifikovat příčiny vzniku krize, porovnat kritické faktory u obou krizí a pokusit se odpovědět na otázku, proč byly varovné příznaky v případě Asie většinou přehlíženy.

Diplomová práce se zabývá vybranými vnějšími ekonomickými vztahy Mexika od začátku 90. let do současnosti, zejména obecnou charakteristikou ekonomiky Mexika, dále zahraničním obchodem Mexika s jeho významnými obchodními partnery, přímými zahraničními investicemi, a také fenoménem mexického hospodářství - podniky typu maquiladora.

Disertační práce zkoumá a hodnotí vliv vnějších a vnitřních faktorů, které působily na formulování zahraničně politického postoje Mexika vůči Kubě během období od roku 1958 do 1976. K tomu využívá metodu analýzy na hladinách: mezinárodní systém, stát, vnitrostátní prostředí a jednotlivec. Soustřeďuje se na témata jako je hegemonické postavení USA na americkém kontinentu, vývoj na Kubě, postavení Mexika v regionu, vnitrostátní režim vlády jedné strany - PRI, vč. historického vývoje, který ovlivnil tehdejší koncepci zahraniční politiky. Ukazuje, že v určitých obdobích domácí faktory zásadně ovlivnily postoj Mexika k revoluční Kubě.

The aim of the diploma thesis Analysis of international economic relations between the EU and Brazil and Mexico was to describe and analyze the current situation of Brazilian and Mexican economies and their relations with the European Union. The thesis is divided into three chapters. In the first chapter is introduced Federative Republic of Brazil, in the second chapter United Mexican States. Both chapters have the same structure - general information, economic characteristics including basic macroeconomic indicators, sectors of the economy, foreign trade and foreign direct investment. The last chapter is dedicated to foreign policy, presentation of the integration MERCOSUR and NAFTA, and analysisof the relationship between the EU and Brazilian and Mexican economies.

Ähnlich wie andere Metropolen in Entwicklungs- und Schwellenländern hat auch die zweitgrößte Stadt Mexikos, Guadalajara, enorme Schwierigkeiten seine Bevölkerung mit sauberem Trinkwasser zu versorgen und das Abwasser sozial- und umweltverträglich zu entsorgen. Gründe für die wachsenden Probleme hängen einerseits mit der Dynamik fortschreitender Urbanisierungsprozesse und andererseits mit der Zunahme sozialer und sozialräumlicher Disparitäten zusammen. Es werden empirische Arbeiten vorgestellt, die im Rahmen einer studentischen Exkursion entstanden sind und die sich mit dem Zusammenhang zwischen sozialräumlichen Disparitäten und der Wasserversorgung bzw. Abwasserentsorgung am innerstädtischen Flusslauf "Atemajac" beschäftigen. Dabei werden vor allem die unterschiedlichen Problemwahrnehmungen der Anwohner des Flusses und die von ihnen gesehenen Lösungsmöglichkeiten untersucht.
