Data collecting and analysis are commonly used techniques in many sectors of today's business and science. Process called Knowledge Discovery in Databases presents itself as a great tool to find new and interesting information that can be used in a future developement. This thesis deals with basic principles of data mining and temporal data mining as well as with specifics of concrete implementation of chosen algorithms for mining periodic patterns in time series. These algorithms have been developed in a form of managed plug-ins for Microsoft Analysis Services -- service that provides data mining features for Microsoft SQL Server. Finally, we discuss obtained results of performed experiments focused on time complexity of implemented algorithms.

With the increase of demands for the speed and availability of the information technologies, the process of optimization gains more and more importance. Concerning search engine optimization, optimization of operating systems or application optimization (source code), the goal is to gain faster, smaller and more maintainable solution. In my thesis I deal with optimization of database systems, which includes low level of database tuning - physical organization of data and indices, database management system tuning and query optimization. I focused on optimization of Microsoft SQL Servers 2005 in enterprise environment.

This master's project deals with location based systems and their application in information distribution. The work discuss kinds of getting actual location. Then it focuses on problems of developing applications and description of Microsoft technologies for mobile devices. Based on obtained theoretical information we present design, implementation and testing of our own location based system.

Management projektů a jejich rizik je v současnosti rozvíjející se disciplína, která si získává stále větší pozornost a uplatnění v praxi. Tato práce popisuje úvod do problematiky řízení rizik, zkoumání metod jejich identifikace, vyhodnocení a managementu, předcházení jejich následkům a jejich zvládání. V další části práce byla provedena analýza vzorků rizik z reálných projektů, byly popsány metody pro identifikaci a vyhodnocení následků rizik v úvodních fázích softwarového projektu, taktéž byly popsány atributy rizik a navržen způsob jejich dokumentace. V závěrečné části zadání byl navržen a implementován prototyp modelové aplikace pro podporu managementu rizik softwarových projektů.

This paper deals with data warehouses and OLAP. These technologies are defined and described here. Then an introduction of the architecture of product MS SQL Server and its tools for work with data warehouses and OLAP folow. The knowledge gained is used for creation of sample application.
