From Economic Experience View on the Preparation and Map Out of a Military MuseumWang, Wei-ming 31 August 2009 (has links)
Museums provide many functions, such as collection, preservation, research, exhibition, education, propagation, information, recreation and etc. However, the highlighting of museums varies with time. The functions of modern museums have gradually evolved from collection, preservation, exhibition in the past to the current recreation, education and entertainment. Compared with functions in the past, the quality of service offered by a modern museum becomes essential. There is ongoing interaction between the need of the public and the growth of the museum. Plain exhibition can no longer attract audience in the trend of recreation-oriented modern life style. A manager of a museum needs to recognize the need of the audience. A museum in itself is not any more an institution merely for passing on knowledge. A new feature has been attached to the museum. It becomes a place that accepts various opinions, and looks after the need of audience in aspects of emotion and sensation. In other words, modern museum uses its service as a stage and its exhibition as the props to let audience involved, and hence, personal experience emerged. The displayed collections are visible, the services are perceptible but the experiences are memorable.
In this study, literature was analyzed to explore the establishment of a military museum from the viewpoint of experience economy. In the process, a different element ¡§how to create experience¡¨ was added into it. Starting from the perceptions of the audience and digging into their need, the study tried to understand audience¡¦s experiences of visiting a museum. Through this process, factors that impact the experiences of audience can be identified to offer strategies in providing audience experiences after the establishment of a military museum.
Base on the results of the study, suggestions and future research directions were proposed to the government to facilitate planning of setting up a military museum.

Report on internship at Jackson Barracks Military MuseumAmerski, Stan 01 November 2002 (has links)
From July through November 2002, the internship which I have been engaged in at Jackson Barracks Military Museum has afforded me opportunity to gain practical experience in both the curatorial and preparatory aspects of museum operations. Jackson Barracks Military Museum is part of a larger state agency, "The Military Directorate" and its governing board is appointed in accordance with state law. Jackson Barracks Military Museum is presently being restructured to acquire certification from the U.S. Army Center of Military History Museum Division. Katz in "Museum Trusteeship: The Fiduciary Ethic Applied" The Journal of Arts Management and Law (73) writes that the museum community has been compelled to develop codes of ethics and sound practices and procedures for their board members, and museum management. This effort will bring this State Museum more in line with the requirements of the American Association of Museums for certification. I was and am pleased to have had the opportunity to take part in this effort which required a complete tum around in how the organization approached its mission. I will detail areas of responsibility given to me, and my contributions to the ongoing effort to become the first National Guard agency to acquire certification.

Ocelová konstrukce vojenského muzea / Steel structure of a military museumŠašinka, Jakub January 2015 (has links)
The diploma thesis describes the design and assessment of steel structure of the roofing of the military museum in Králíky. The supporting structure of hall is 40.00 meters span. The total layout are 55.93 x 72.04 m, building height 11.43 m, 16.11 m pylon height. Main construction material is steel, grade S355, secondary constructions are made from steel grade S235, rods are made from steel grade S460. I did optimization of steel structure and chose the best option. For this option I made detailed structural analysis. It is prepared by static analysis of the main load-bearing parts of the structure, including joints and details. The supporting structure of hall consists in the transverse direction from the curved spatial lattice structure made of steel circular tubes which hang on rods on a sloped pylon. Part of the report is open-air roofing.
