This is the documentation of my creative project in which the design was a museum of graphic arts with other supporting facilities including a forum, a cafeteria, a library.The project is composed of two major parts. The first one is the research on the contemporary museum design which is the concrete results of the study on current knowledge and interpretation of the orientation and meaning of contemporary museum architecture, together with the research on the theory of point, line, plane- the primary elements of architectural form and space. The second part is a design project, " A Museum of Graphic Arts", which is set up as a framework for the study, theoretical exploration and, the most important of all, as an interpretation of understanding and a synthesis of the research in the first part. / Department of Architecture

It is not the purpose of this thesis to justify the need of an art museum for each sizeable community. The role that the museum plays in society has long been recognized. The art museum, as now conceived, fits into the pattern of everyone's daily life. It rightfully belongs somewhere near the hub of the community's social, educational, and entertainment life. It resembles the library in that it provides the means for delving deeply into certain given subjects. Yet it can be more useful than a library in that large groups may be informed at the same time. It can sponsor and house local social, cultural and scientific projects. It can, if it will, do all of these things, and it may be designed to serve more specialized needs or an individual community… The purpose, then, of this thesis is to design a museum type for the small city; one that will serve its requirements, and fill the cultural gap now existing in most communities of moderate size. / Master of Science

Structures of perfect symmetry, order, and beauty exist in both discoveries of science and objects found in natures. With careful observation and analysis, creative applications of these interesting forms can be and have been applied in many architectural structures with great success. In this project the utilization of these forms can not only bring out the purpose of this Museum of Nature and Science, but because these forms are derived from natural studies, they can also give viewers a sense of familiarity and peacefulness. / Master of Architecture
