No. of bitstreams: 1 2007_LuisAlbertoLinharesRufino.PDF: 171784 bytes, checksum: 4e333f8cd032238638441f66d900d643 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2007-04 / A presente pesquisa teve por objetivo avaliar a variação na quantidade de ovos de nematódeos gastrintestinais eliminados nas fezes de ovinos da raça Santa Inês no período do peri-parto numa propriedade próxima a cidade de Samambaia, no Distrito Federal. O grupo experimental foi composto por dezenove matrizes em período peri-parto, com idade entre 2 e 3,5 anos, mantidas em regime semi-intensivo, sendo sete nativas e doze adicionadas ao rebanho um ano antes do início do experimento. Foram realizadas colheitas quinzenais individuais, totalizando quatrocentas amostras. As fezes foram obtidas diretamente da ampola retal em sacos plásticos individuais e mantidas a 4ºC até o processamento. O número de ovos foi determinado utilizando-se a técnica de GORDON e WHITLOCK (1939) modificada. Os animais não foram desverminadas durante o experimento. Foram observadas diferenças nas quantidades de ovos eliminados nas fezes desses animais tanto nas três fases do peri-parto (pré-parto, lactação e desmame), quanto em relação à origem dos animais e ao tipo de parto. _________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / The present research was carried out to evaluate the variation on eggs output ing by gastrintestinal nematodes in Santa Inês sheep during the periparturient period. The experimental group were composed by nineteen ewes, aged between 2 to 3.5 years old, maintained in semi-intensive system in a farm near Samambaia district, in the Distrito Federal. The ewes were from different origins: seven were natives and twelve were introduced to the flock one year before the beginning of the experiment. Individual samples were collected each fifteen days, totalizing four hundred samples. Rectal faecal samples were collected in plastic bags and stored at 4ºC for later analysis. The number of eggs was determined for each sample using the modified GORDON & WHITLOCK technique. There were differences in amount of eliminated eggs quantities related to the three stages of the periparturient period (pré-parturient, lactation and weaning), as well as considering the origin of the animals and related to the number of borned lambs per ewe.
