Foi criado um banco de dados após registrarem-se e catalogarem-se as manifestações dermatológicas encontradas no exame. Analisaram-se estatisticamente os resultados e as variáveis de interesse para os riscos que esta população - que se manteve fechada, miscigenou a partir da terceira geração com a população autóctone e vive fora do seu habitat natural - tem para desenvolver fotoenvelhecimento e câncer da pele. Estabeleceu-se um programa de prevenção contra o câncer da pele após aceitação e interesse demonstrado pela comunidade. Os elementos encontrados neste trabalho estarão à disposição da comunidade e de outros pesquisadores / Abstract: From 25th August 1999 to 30th May 2001, a dermatological examination was performed on two hundred and eighty two private school students who were mostly of Dutch nationality or Dutch descendents and whose ages ranged from 3 years to 17 years. Dermatological manifestations that were revealed during the examination were registered and catalogued in a data bank. Statistical analysis of the results and variables demonstrated a risk for the development of photoaging and skin cancer in a population that has maintained itself isolated, lived out of its natural habitat and has only mixed with the autochthonous population after the third generation. A plan for the prevention of skin cancer was established after the community demonstrated its interest and acceptance.
