Furthermore, it analyzes the relationship of this phenomenon with the school. It is empirical research conducted from the collection of information on entities in the State of São Paulo, that develop non school educational programs and projects. Data were obtained through the Internet, in electronic sites of organizations using the technique of content analysis. hypotheses raised: a) the non-school educational activities require didactic and pedagogical grounding and therefore has low capacity to generate learning; b) the non-school education consist is in extreme social control mechanism; c) non-school education is increasingly competing with school. The theoretical referential that guides the research is seated in studies of thinkers of Critical Theory of Society - Theodor W. Adorno, Max Horkheimer, Walter Benjamin and Herbert Marcuse - and the work of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. It is verified that the theme in question is vast and complex, as are actions that do not have full legitimacy and for which the various subjects involved attribute different meanings and even contradictory meanings. Finally, the results demonstrate that these actions a large extent express more social control and intensifying processes of pseudoformation / A presente pesquisa relata o estudo sobre as ações educacionais não escolares denominadas e identificadas por alguns termos: educação popular, socioeducação e educação não formal. Além disso, analisa a relação desse fenômeno com a escola. Trata-se de pesquisa empírica realizada a partir da coleta de informações nas entidades, localizadas no Estado de São Paulo, que desenvolvem programas e projetos educacionais não escolares. Os dados foram obtidos por meio da internet, nos sítios eletrônicos das entidades, utilizando a técnica da análise de conteúdo. Hipóteses levantadas: a) as ações educativas não escolares carecem de fundamentação didática e pedagógica e tendem a apresentar baixa capacidade de gerar aprendizagens; b) a educação não escolar constitui-se em mecanismo de extremo controle social; c) a educação não escolar vem cada vez mais concorrendo com a escola. O referencial teórico que orienta a pesquisa está alocado nos estudos dos pensadores da Teoria Crítica da Sociedade Theodor W. Adorno, Max Horkheimer, Walter Benjamim e Herbert Marcuse e no trabalho de Karl Marx e Friedrich Engels. Verifica-se que o tema em questão é amplo e complexo, visto que são ações que não possuem total legitimidade e para as quais os diversos sujeitos envolvidos atribuem significados diferentes e até contraditórios. Por fim, os resultados encontrados demonstram que essas ações em grande medida expressam mais controle social e intensificação dos processos de pseudoformação
