Počítačové modelování hranic dvojčatění ve slitinách s tvarovou pamětí / Computer modeling of twin-boundaries in shape memory alloys

Heczko, Martin January 2020 (has links)
This Master‘s thesis is focused on theoretical study of twinning in magnetic shape memory alloys based on Ni2MnGa using ab initio calculations of electronic structure within the projector augmented wave method. In particular, the effect of increasing concentration of manganese at the expense of gallium was studied on total energy and stress profiles along different deformation paths in the (10-1)[101] shear system of non-modulated martensite. Further, this work deals with the effect of the concentration of manganese on the energy of planar fault caused by presence of partial dislocation due to motion of twin boundary. The results show that the shear modulus in studied shear system increases with the increasing concentration of manganese as well as energy barrier and deformation characteristics along shear deformation paths increases, which makes the shear more difficult in Mn-rich alloys. Increasing concentration of manganese also leads to rising the planar fault energy. All these effects can be responsible for lower mobility of twin boundaries in alloys with higher concentration of manganese.

[pt] COMPORTAMENTO MECÂNICO DE UM MECANISMO FLEXÍVEL DE MOLA ORTO-PLANAR APÓS ENVELHECIMENTOS / [en] MECHANICAL PERFORMANCE OF AN ORTHO-PLANAR SPRING COMPLIANT MECHANISM AFTER AGING TESTS

18 November 2021 (has links)
[en] In contrast to traditional mechanisms, a compliant mechanism relies on the deflection of its flexible members to generate motion, while presenting advantages such as no need for lubrication and easier assembly. An ortho-planar spring (OPS) compliant mechanism was analyzed in this work and its mechanical performance after hygrothermal and ultraviolet radiation aging tests was studied. The aging analysis performed here addresses the performance of compliant mechanisms after aging processes that can help in the design of future compliant mechanisms. ASTM D638 tensile test type I samples were also subjected to aging to serve as a comparison for OPS samples. The samples were subjected to three different types of aging conditions, namely water immersion, oil immersion and ultraviolet radiation. The liquid immersion aging tests were performed in three temperature levels: room temperature, 50 C degrees and 70 C degrees. In general, tensile samples showed significant statistical changes in Young s modulus and elongation at break, while OPS samples did not present considerable statistical change in any aging condition, which indicate that the mechanical properties and elastic capabilities of OPS samples were not affected by aging processes. Although more testing with the specific materials, environment, and exposure time would be required to verify its use in a specific application, the findings of this study suggest that compliant mechanisms show promise for use in applications where aging is a concern, and their life is expected to be within the limits of this aging study.

Difúze měďnatých iontů v huminových hydrogelech / Diffusion of cupric ions in humic hydrogels

Grunt, Jakub January 2014 (has links)
Presented diploma thesis focuses on the study of diffusion of cupric ions in humic acid hydrogels. A total of eight different hydrogels were prepared by dissolving the humic acids with sodium hydroxide and sodium triphosphate. For the purpose of precipitation and cross linking, hydrochloric acid and chlorides of magnesium, calcium and iron were used during a modified preparation of gels. Different gel-forming interactions were achieved by modifying the preparation of hydrogel systems. The aim of the thesis was to assess the effect of gel preparation procedure on the transport properties of the gels. Therefore, diffusion coeficients were determined for all samples. Two different methods - constant-source diffusion and instantaneous planar source diffusion - were used to assign the diffusion coefficients. Methods differ in source concentrations of cupric ions and are suitable for assessing the impact of the concentration on the diffusion coefficient. Both these methods were based on monitoring temporal evolution of diffusion profiles of cupric ions and on assigning the overall diffusion flow. Copper ions were elected as diffusing medium because of their high affinity and strong binding to humic acids. Measurements show that gels prepared using polyphosphate allow slightly faster diffusion of cupric ions and that the constant-source method provides higher diffusion coefficients in comparison to instantaneous planar source method.

Modelování elektromagnetických polí v biologoických tkáních / Electromagnetic field mapping in biological tissues

Bereznanin, Martin January 2010 (has links)
The main objective of this study is to learn about the theory of electromagnetic field and to create a model of propagation of ultra short waves in a biological tissue. Next point of this paper is to determine a specific absorption rate (SAR) using a valid sanitary standard. A particular model solution was realized in a model environment of the program Comsol Multiphysics 3.5. A human head and a cellular phone with an intern antenna were successfully created in this model environment. First of all were entered appropriate parameters which led to a successful representation of the distribution of electric field intensity. A value of specific absorption rate taken by a biological tissue was determined in the next step. This value was compared to the value listed in a valid sanitary standard to prevent its overrun. A development of a temperature in a biological tissue was determined as well, according to a six minutes long interval stated in a valid sanitary standard.

Vliv uživatele na miniaturní antény v mobilních aplikacích / User influence on miniature antennas in mobile applications

Vehovský, Radek January 2013 (has links)
This master’s thesis deals with user influence on miniature antennas in mobile application. Electrically small antennas including fundamental performance properties and limitations are introduced in the theoretical section of this thesis. This section also deals with microstrip antennas and their common types. The accent is on PIFA antennas, their typical constructions and methods of miniaturization. In the practical section, dual-band PIFA antenna for operation at frequencies of systems GSM900 and GSM1800 is designed with the assistance of electromagnetic field simulator CST Microwave Studio. On this type of antenna, the user influence on impedance matching and radiation pattern in data mode (the user is typing message or browsing with the phone) is investigated. For this purpose the hand phantom, corresponding to author’s right hand, was made from agar based material. For typical position of human hand is designed matching network, which eliminate the user influence and ensure correct function of antenna.

Difuzivita huminových hydrogelů / Diffusivity of humic hydrogels

Král, Jan January 2017 (has links)
Presented diploma thesis focuses on the study of diffusion of cupric ions in humic acid gels. A total of fifth different standards of humic acids and one sample humic acid prepared from same source as in bachelor's thesis, on which this thesis continues, were used for preparation solutions of humic acids. Thereafter, these solutions were used for preparation of agarose hydrogels, which were necessary in following diffusion experiments. The objective of the work was to compare transport properties of humic standards between themselves and then compare standards with humic acid prepared from same source as in bachelor's thesis. Measure, which was used to determine the transport properties, was comparison of effective diffusion coefficients. Method of instantaneous planar source diffusion was used to compare them. This method was based monitoring temporal evolution of diffusion profiles of cupric ions in humic hydrogels. Copper ions were selected as diffusing medium because of their high affinity and strong bonds to humic acids.
