Foram utilizados para esse estudo um Eletromiógrafo Nicolet e mini-eletrodos de superficie. Os registros mostraram que não houveram diferenças no comportamento das três digitações do músculo serrátil anterior. Na abdução e na flexão do ombro a porção superior do músculo trapézio atuou sinergicamente com o músculo serrátil anterior. Na abdução e adução horizontais não houve prevalência de nenhum dos músculos em estudo. Na translação vertical de elevação da escápula (elevação do ombro), a porção superior do músculo trapézio apresentou atividade preponderante sobre a porção inferior e o músculo serrátil anterior. Na translação vertical de abaixamento da escápula (depre~são do ombro) predominou a atividade da porçã? inferior do músculo trapézio sobre o músculo serrátil anterior, e a menor atividade foi apresentada pela porção superior do músculo trapézio / Abstract: The upper and lower portions ofthe trapezius muscle and the 4th, 5 th and 6 th bundles of the serratus anterior muscle, were studied electromyographicaly in 10 male adults individuaIs in shoulder andpectoral girdle movements. It was used for this study an Nicolet Electromyograph and mini surface electrodes. The registers did not show any differences in the behavior of the 3 bundles of the serratus anterior muscle. ln the abduction and flexion of the shoulder, the up portion of the trapezius acted simultaneously with the serratus anterior muscle. ln the horizontal abduction and adduction t41ere was not a prevalence of none of the muscles studied. ln vertical translation of elevation of the scapula (shoulder elevation), the upper portion of the trapezius muscle , presented a preponderant activity over the lower portion and over the bundle of the serratus anterior muscle. ln. the movement of vertical translation of lowering the scapula (shouder depression) predominated the activity of the shoulder portion of the trapezius muscle over the bundle of the serratus anterior muscle, and the lowest activity was present by the upper portion of the trapezius muscle / Mestrado / Biologia e Patologia Buco-Dental / Mestre em Ciências
