Morfologia, anatomia e desenvolvimento do fruto e semente de Manihot caerulescens Pohl. e M. tripartita Mull. Arg. (Euphorbiaceae) /

Oliveira, Jonathas Henrique Georg de. January 2007 (has links)
No estágio III, ...(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: The present work describes structural and ontogenetic aspects of the fruits and seeds of Manihot caerulescens Pohl. e M. tripartita Müll. Arg. (Euphorbiaceae, Crotonoideae), shrub species that occur frequently in cerrado sensu lato. The aims of this work are: to describe the morphology, anatomy and development of the fruits and seeds of M. caerulescens and M. tripartita; to identify the structures related to the process of dehiscence of the fruits, and to seed dispersion; and to verify the occurrence of structural standards between the studied species, comparing with others Euphorbiaceae registered in the literature. For this, usual techniques in Plant Anatomy were adopted. In the study of pericarp, it was possible define four development stages that are typical of dry fruits: I - ovary; II - very young fruits, with intensive meristematic activity; III - young fruits until their final size, characterized for evident cellular elongation; and IV - phase of maturity and lignification of the sclerenchymatous stratum. In the stage I, we verify that the two studied species present ovary structure typical of Euphorbiaceae, with some subtle differences between them, as, e.g., the angular aspect of M. caerulescens, due to the presence of six longitudinal projections; in M. tripartita, several unicellular non-glandular trichomes are observed, and the ovary has more circular transverse section. In stage II, it is initiated the differentiation of diverse lateral bundles in medium mesocarp; in its inner portion, a layer of tangential and obliquely elongated cells is distinguished. Intensive periclinal divisions indicate the presence of one subadaxial meristem, that forms the inner mesocarp, and of one adaxial meristem, that produces the endocarp of the both species. In stage III, the final size of the fruits is defined; the most inner region of medium ...(Complete abstract click electronic access below) / Mestre

January 2009 (has links)
Relationships between mass and length were analyzed as well. The usual comparisons made for studies related to distinct species was the subject of the study to compare possible changes occurring during the life of individuals of one species. For this purpose 19 morphometric measurements were obtained, but only 17 were related to individuals of the species e 2 for ingested prey. The S. hilarii measurements used individuals whose standard lengths varied from 50 to 450 mm. This study intended to compare young and adult individuals, as well as males and females. Distinct length classes were established and these data were also used to establish possible relationships between individuals who are usually caught in distinct places of the Sorocaba river, and are submitted to distinct water current effects. Larger individuals use to live in the middle of the river where water flows more rapidly, while the younger ones live near to the river margin or calm waters. Food intake may also suggest some distinct morphological aspects. So, the main organism, when almost intact were also measured. Samples for the analyses were collected at the Sorocaba basin, but were complemented with specimens collectecat the rivers Jacaré-Pepira, Corumbataí (Tietê sub-basin) and Mogi-Guaçu (Rio Grande sub-basin). These specimens are deposited at the Zoology Department (Unesp - Rio Claro). To compare males and females, only fish from the Sorocaba river were considered for analysis. The study permitted to find out that no significant differences exist for fish originated from the Tietê and Rio Grande sub-basins. The same happens for male and female individuals. When immature and adult individuals were compared nine morphological characters... (Complete abstract click electronic access below) / Mestre

Cortezzi, Sara Sanches. January 2009 (has links)
The present paper analyzed the morphological variation during the ontogeny of Thraulodes sp. and the functional morphology of the head and mouth parts of Leptophlebiidae using multivariate and geometric morphometrics. The data showed changes in the body proportions of Thraulodes sp. during the growth. The results indicate positive allometric growth of the mesothorax and abdomen, which can be respectively related to the development of its flying muscles and its reproductive structure in larger nymphs. The head, the mandible and maxilla presented variation of shape during the ontogeny. Fragments of vegetal and shapeless organic material were the main items of the stomach content in all three body size class that we analyzed. Therefore, it was not observed changes in the utilization of resources that could explain the ontogenetic variations of the head and of the mouth parts of Thraulodes sp. The shapes of the head, madible and maxilla differed significantly among the genera of Leptophlebiidae. There was a significant relation between the stomach content and the shape of the head, wichh did not occur with the mandible and the maxilla. There was a significant relation between the phylogeny and the shape of the head and those of mouth parts of Leptophlebiidae did not occur in an independent way, so the phylogenetic inertia overcame the effects of the stochastic adaptive pressures on the shape of these structures / Mestre

Mart. (Bignoniaceae) /

Pereira Junior, Eduardo João. January 2011 (has links)
This study aims to analyze the ontogeny of reproductive structures of Cybistax antisyphilitica, with the purpose of adding relevant embryological data to the phylogenetic design of the family or, infra-familiar taxonomic categories. The embryological features observed was similar to species belonging to ―Tabebuia alliance‖ whose embryology has been investigated. During the ontogey of C. antisyphilitica ovule, only the chalazal megaspore develops, and in the course of its differentiation in the embryo sac mother cell, the micropylar side of its cell wall assumes a concave conformation in which there is an expressive deposition of callose. In the octonuclear stage, there is an accumulation of a fibrogranular substance between the endothelium and megagametophyte wall causing a bottleneck in the middle portion of embryo sac. For anther ontogeny of the species studied, the tapetal layers are dimorphic, although becoming similar at the late pre-meiotic stage. After meiosis, the dimorphism is accentuated between the two tapetal layers. The microspore mother cell amyloplasts are inherited by the microspores and the resulting pollen grains. The pollen grain amyloplasts gradually increasing in number and size in a single amylogenesis/amylolyse cycle. Based on the obtained data we concluded that the configuration of the distal wall of the chalazal megaspore and the accumulation of secretion in the median portion of embryo sac are characters not reported for other species of the family, and may possibly be autapomorphic characters. Regarding the ontogeny of the anther, Cybistax antisyphilitic showed a multistratified fibrous endothecium... (Complete abstract click electronic access below) / Mestre

Neumann, Erika. January 2008 (has links)
Methods included the analysis of fertilization and early development by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), light microscopy (LM) and the analysis of the variations in body morphometry. The period from gametes extrusion and 76 hours after fertilization (AF) was assessed in laboratory with a water temperature of 27.98 ± 0.81 ºC. From 76 hours AF to 25 days old the larval assessment was performed in fishery with a water temperature of 30.30 ± 1.98 ºC. The oocytes diameter at extrusion was 1.21 ± 0.06 mm, when 87.7% of them measured between 1.11.and 1.30 mm. Up to 180 min AF there was an enlargement of the perivitelline space and the oocytes diameter reached 3.81 ± 0.40 mm. The spermatozoa entrance inside micropyle and the formation of protection cones occurred between 10 to 30 seconds after gametes activation and embryogenesis was achieved 13 h AF. At hatching, total larval length was 3.45 ± 0.38 mm; the yolk sac volume was 0.54 ± 0.17 μL and its total reabsorption occurred 53 hours after hatching (AH). The greater consumption efficiency of yolk occurred between 33 to 47 h AH. At 25 h AH rudimentary teeth were observed in the mouth. Mouth was connected to the open linear tube with lumen covered by simple cylindrical epithelium. 243 h AH, digestory tract was divided in bucopharyngeal cavity and esophagus covered by squamous stratified epithelium; stomach had a U shape with a single layer of cylindrical cells at the lumen and tubular glands at cardiac region; midgut showed countless pyloric caeca at the anterior region, separated from hindgut by rectal septum. Midgut and hindgut had an epithelium similar to the stomach, except for the amount and distribution of clear vesicular cells inside it... Indução à reprodução e desenvolvimento embrionário e larval do ciclídeo acará-açu Astronotus ocellatus (Agassiz, 1831) /

Paes, Maria do Carmo Faria. January 2008 (has links)
As desovas apresentaram ovos com valores médios variando de 1,75±0,056 a ...(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: Astronotus ocellatus is a fish from the Amazon Basin, adapted and widely reared since 1938 in ponds and rivers of Brazilian northeast region by the Departamento Nacional de Obras Contra as Secas. This fish has a great potential due to appropriate characteristics for sporting fishing, reared as ornamental and owning a very tasty meat being appreciate by the people in north and northeast regions of Brazil. Despite having all these adjectives for aquaculture there are a few studies about reproductive biology of this species. Although spawning does not occur at once and reproduction in captivity is well successful, studies about artificial reproduction are extremely important for several researches in biology and early embryonic development of which events must be followed in a known lack of time and like this to contribute for a better understanding of rear conditions, management and control of the species. Therefore, this present research aimed to assess the Astronotus ocellatus responses to administration of two kinds of reproductive hormones (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin - HCG and carp hypophysis extract - CHE) and studying the structure, ultrastructure and morphometry of its eggs and larvae. Sixteen couples from Centro de Aqüicultura of Universidade Estadual Paulista, Campus of Jaboticabal (SP) and four spawnings occurred naturally in ponds were also catched. Five of sixteen females responded to hormonal stimuli, three of them with HCG and two with CHE. In relation to males, only one responded favorably to HCG. Acará-açu females have demersal and adhesive eggs, somewhat resistant to the touch, discreet egg shape-like, yellowish colour "in vivo" and when fertilized and white opalescent without fertilization, with a large vitelline sphere and a small space between yolk and chorion. The spawnings presented eggs with average values of 1,75±0,056 ...(Complete abstract click electronic access below) / Mestre
