São descritos os fundamentos teóricos nos quais se basearam a elaboração de um programa automático para a análise das estruturas em questão. O programa desenvolvido é apresentado através de um diagrama de blocos, simplificado, com explicações sobre as suas várias fases, sendo descritas todas as suas possibilidades quanto aos tipos de estruturas e carregamentos a elas impostos, que podem ser analisados, sendo incluídos exemplos de estruturas calculadas com sua utilização. / The scope of this paper is to analyse plane frames with curved and straight members, with uniform or non-uniform cross section. The matricial analysis technique, together with computer methods, are used to solve the problem. A computer program is organized in such a way to allow introduction of hinges in the different structural members. The first part deals with the theoretical analysis of the structure. All the steps are organized conveniently in order to prepare the elaboration of the computer program. ln the second part we describe the flow chart and discuss all the intermediate steps. The loading conditions and the flexibility of the solution, regarding the geometrical characteristics of the structural members, are analysed. Finally, the method is used to solve some examples and the results are presented.
